Planet Zoo crashing with mods when I try to open the save in 1.9!

Hello everyone! Unfortunately, when I tried to load my American/European zoo with new species and remaster mods, it keeps crashing! I ran out of time to remove the animals and move the files away from my Planet Zoo folder (I'm a busy university student.) I have no modded animals in the trade center, but I have animals in my habitats who I was waiting to give birth or grow up. Is my zoo doomed?! Please help!

I feel you. I love playing with mods, especially new animals. It is becoming tedious though that they break with each major update. With the sheer amount of mods out there it's taken the modders a long time to update them all. We'll just have to be patient though.

I know Frontier does not support mods, but please Frontier help us! Make it so mods don't break after every update. It would be much appreciated. :D

The only way they can do it is make everything backwards compatible, but that in itself isn't possible because you cannot always make things backwards compatible. Sometimes the effort to do that is so over the top and complicated, that it's absolutely not worth it.

TLDR; with the limited resources and time Frontier (or any company for that matter) has, they simply cannot come up with a solution that will ensure that mods no longer break.

Im personally all for mods but choose to wait until end of game support to add any, for this exact reason
I'm going to be almost the same. I've only got one animal I really want in my sandbox zoos that Frontier hasn't provided yet, so I'm keeping my mod usage to a minimum. Once support ends though...I'm sure I"ll be using hundreds of them lol

I had a mod or mods causing problems before the update. I did a fresh install to be sure I got rid of every trace of mods and Planet Zoo runs SOOOOO much better for me now. The update really helped performance too. There are some really tempting mods out there but after my experience, I won't touch them again. Just not worth it when you get so far into a game and things aren't working properly and you can't figure out if you've done something wrong in your build or if it's a bug in the game - or - is it a mod?
