Planet Zoo Deluxe Edition: Exclusive Animal Reveals

I didn't play it myself but some have said that beta progress was carried over in Planet Coaster, another Frontier game. I don't expect it will be in PZ, and I honestly won't be upset either way, I just want to know. Bo has said we will find out next week, which is before the beta starts, I'm happy with that.

You were misinformed, it didn't happen.

That doesn't surprise me one bit, which is why I await confirmation from an official representative of the company.

Maybe the odd building that you built in Beta could be copied across manually, but paths, parks or game play - Not a Chance!.

My biggest concern would be conservation credits earned and the animals purchased with them on the world market. I doubt that will be saved from beta - BUT - if it is saved, I am definitely going to want to play the beta, because that would be like a head start on getting rarer animals. Not likely though. And it's probably for the best because it would be unfair. Mind you - that is what "exclusive" means - but it doesn't seem like Frontier's style.

I never copied any of them anyways, as I was considering BETA just to be a playground, there was nothing there that was of importance for me to transfer to the full game anyways.

But I do recall being able to just copy saved games from location A to location B in explorer.

The only thing relevant to me is: Will we keep our franchise name or will that be wiped away as well? Honestly, I don't care about starting ew with animals and zoos. You can not get much done in 2 weeks anyway, if you still have a fuilltime job. It will just be a bit of playing and practicing. The "registered" franchise is another topic though.

What are they calling the onboarding tutorial? I wasn't going to bother with beta if nothing is saved but if the tutorial is available in beta it might be a good reason to play it - to learn how the game works. It might allow me to come up with ideas for Franchise zoos I can build after the official launch. That is a kind of head start that would be worth the effort even if nothing is saved.

The tutorial is part of the Career Mode of Planet Zoo. The Beta will feature the first scenario of the Career Mode, which is a really nice opportunity to get to know how the game works and plays.

The Planet Zoo Beta will feature the first scenario from our Career Mode (which you can read more about here, or watch the live reveal of here, 20 August at 7PM BST!), as well as the brand new Franchise Mode, in which you can develop your own zoo franchise along with the rest of the community and use the online Animal Exchange where you can trade animals to increase the genetic diversity and well-being of your animals and zoo. You can replay both maps multiple times and even free-build as if in Sandbox. Here's what'll be available:

This is a partial quote taken from here.

Franchise Mode is what I really want to play after official release - which is now less than 2 months away! - but I think I will play the Career Mode tutorial in beta, just to learn how to play the game and get a feel for this style of terraforming, landscaping, and building. Then I can spend the month between beta and launch planning what I want to do in Franchise Mode which will be easier after beta because I'll have a better idea of how everything works.
