I agree with this. Franchise mode currently has an ultimate team feel to it where players can own one animal so that newer players to the mode can't access them. I had a money bug in my franchise so had to start again and now can't get close to the conversation credits needed for the bigger animals. I currently need a make Baird's Tapir for being but they are all now over 200 credits which seems silly. Some kind of cap would be good.Well, I appreciate the new mode. But for me being always online is not a problem. I'd rather have franchise mode tweaked with max and minimum prices and conservation points in the sale, based on genetic. Currently it's capitalism only, but what I want is conservation together with other players. Franchise mode in itself is a great idea, but I feel like the feedback on the market we give is yet unheared. The inflation makes it almost impossible for players who have not a running franchise from day one to join the fun.
Edit: That came across unthankfull. of course I do appreciate that you are working so hard on the game and listen to feedback. I recognize you do. Thank you. I just like current franchise mode, but at the moment it's not what it was market for and that's actually a pitty.
One way to solve this is for Frontier to always have all kinds, but just lowish quality animals available for market price.I agree with this. This comes as such a huge relief.
I've been looking to fill my Zoo Tycoon nostalgia for years, but I was sorely disappointed being unable to afford the inflated conservation point costs on the player-market in franchise mode to actually purchase any of the animals I had planned on buying. I hate to sound ungrateful, but I was actually beginning to regret my preorder thinking this wasn't going to be the right fit for me - I'm SO glad it won't require player trading after all. I'm a little sad that there still won't be a fully freeplay, unlimited funds/credit mode for the sake of playing purely for creativity, but I can't have it all I suppose, I'm willing to give it a try like that at least
Sandbox mode is still happening which is the unlimited funds mode that I believe you are looking for. You'll be able to create and design anything you want without worrying about money. This mode is just franchise mode offline for those that still want the challenge of limited money without the added stress of playing with others and not being able to get a lot of the animals due to high costs and such.
No problem! I'm most excited about sandbox mode and I totally get how some of the writing can be misinterpreted so I didn't want you to feel let down or anything!Oh, perfect! I misinterpreted the "new mode will still include a full economy with both dollars and Conservation Credits" as being for speaking for all modes rather than being specific to Franchise-mode only. Rereading the OP that seems so obvious now, I'm not sure how I misread. Thank you so much!
Agreed. Community challenge to release West African Lions was a great idea. But can I afford even 1 lion? No chance. Best get releasing peacocks for 1 credit each..One way to solve this is for Frontier to always have all kinds, but just lowish quality animals available for market price.
Thanks for the kind words everyone! Just to clear one thing up, this is a brand new mode being developed because of your feedback. That means it won't be available for the Beta.
