Planet Zoo IRL Challenge | 2025 (Rules, Template, etc!)

The past three years I’ve been challenging myself and some of my closer friends to see as many animal from the game Planet Zoo as possible, and this time, I’m opening it up to the public!

You can see above it has enough cells for you to mark the first time you saw the species, as well as any notes you might have (say for example, I sub out Formosan for Asian Black Bear).

Really don’t care how y’all play the game, it’s just for fun after all! Any questions feel free to reach out or ping me here!

I tend to count wild animals myself but ZooChat doesn’t for their challenges. Again, completely up to the user!

Ahhh my neck of the woods! If you have extra time and funds a good small zoo is Central Florida Zoo as well

PS: Epcot’s the seas is also a fun detour

I've been eyeing that place and we're staying at my Aunt's who live in Sanford for a night. Sadly, with everything else it might be just a little bit too much zoo for my family (crazy right?) I would love to work at a facility in Florida at some point so if not next week, then hopefully I can visit sooner rather than later!

I definitely gotcha. My Fiancé gets too zoo’d out by me sometimes too There’s a bunch of zoos statewide though so definitely more opportunities! I still have to take a roadtrip out to Zoo Miami one day! I wanna visit Brevard again too…. Ugh too many zoos out here

Yeah, Zoo Miami is up there for me and I mean I wouldn't complain if they want to hire me at some point... I've honestly considered doing a solo zoo road trip around Florida, too many good facilities

Not at all! Aspiring (hoofstock) zookeeper. Did my first internship last year and it's definitely the field for me!

I'll take part as soon as I win the lottery. At this point it would take me a literal lifetime to see even close to every species in the game due to the amount of travel I'd have to do.

Without even visiting a zoo I'm at a total of 2 thanks to both species of scorpion in the live animal room of my local natural history museum.

Current standing is at 38/191, it's a fun thing when I walked into a nature center and in their lobby was a tank full of Bullfrog tadpoles lol
