Planet Zoo: Twilight Pack and Update 1.11 Out Now! 🦇

I can only select one filter, what is very annoying when waiting for a panther, white tiger, etc😕

By the way...did someone already have a melanistic/black leopard or do they even exist in the game? 🙈🙈
Yeah they are here but could be rare

I mean this menue where I have the problem that I can't set the filter for more than one species:

Edit: i just found the problem.....I forgot that we can select multiple species in the (on that picture green) species menue 🙈

Yeah that's definitely a bug, that really shouldn't happen. Be sure to report it to the issue tracker if a report hasn't already been made

My personal review of Twilight DLC and free update

ANIMALS

As always very well made, the models are almost identical to the real counterparts. Unfortunately after the conservation DLC with only 4+1 animals, I expected this pack to be 7+1, as usually happened, also because a DLC set on the twilight theme lent itself to multiple choices and solutions.
The controversy about the choice of animals lies in the theme of buildings and objects that characterizes the DLC: if we focus on the concept of "twilight" then the chosen animals are ok, but if you accompany me the DLC with Halloween/fear/terror themed objects and constructions then I say that the DLC could be called "Scary animals" "Spooky pack" and animals that best represented this concept could be chosen in a different way.

Raccoon:
Cute and rogue, a funny animal, I really like having him in my zoo, however I wouldn't have included him in this DLC but he would have been perfect in a "Neighborhood Animals" theme. Following the Frontier way of operating, due to the physical similarity this animal will most likely open the doors to the entrance of the coati ingame in the future.
Vote 7,5

Striped Skunk:
Particular and very nice too, seeing him in the game get angry and shoot his stink is really fun. I had doubts, seeing the presentation images, on the realization of the tail, certainly very difficult to recreate because it is super hairy and fluffy, but the final result isn't bad.
Vote: 7

Wombat:

How can you not love something so fat and clumsy. It is very pleasant to see it ingame and it gives me joy. He too would have included him in another DLC but now he is already here with us and I am very happy to keep him.
Vote: 8

Red Fox:

Although it's an animal that I love very much, I call it "the easy choice of Frontier", as happens in every DLC to easily occupy a slot you create a clone animal or in any case very similar to others already present in the game, instead of explore new horizons first. In fact, even with it I would have dedicated myself much later and it could have been inserted in a DLC of the "neighborhood" or "temperate forest". There is nothing to say about the creation of the animal, absolutely perfect and flawless, it is adorable, elegant. The various colors available give her more and more interest.
Vote: 8,5

Egyptian Fruit Bat:

The most positive note of the DLC. I would finally scream. This animal represents a revolution for the game, a milestone. Finally we have the flight animations and this will open a world, it will open the doors to flying birds or to the butterfly house, unfortunately it arrives guilty and unacceptably late, after almost 3 years from the launch.
In addition to the graphic aspect, of fine workmanship, the animal is reproduced very well.
I agree with the choice made to give it loop animations, because its movements in a closed environment are limited, but at the same time for the kind of animal that is are also frenetic, and at stake for me it is spectacular to see them at work and make their screeching noise, or stop to rest.
Vote: 10 (I never give it, it represents perfection, but it is for the enthusiasm of the first animal that flies).

Construction pieces and objects
When I saw them I thought "Are we playing a zoo or theme park simulation? Is it some sort of Planet Coaster Spooky pack 2.0?"
Unfortunately, even if some of the pieces are nice and interesting, as they could be used for other purposes, in my personal opinion I totally reject this choice. Either they are pieces very similar to the European DLC or they are pieces that in a real zoo would be totally useless. I have never seen a Transylvanian-style castle in a zoo, a cemetery scenography, gargoiles, benches or tables made like that. Maybe there are some pieces that can be used in reality to recreate some settings in the Halloween period but then it ends there.
The concept I want to make you understand is that there is no zoo with that perennial architecture or with those objects that perpetually remain in the zoo, at most are seasonal.
It was not better, for example, to provide the animals with a pumpkin with food inside that they have to look for as environmental enrichment and the consequent animations?
Wasn't it better to have a ticket office with realistic animations of the guests? Wasn't it better to have real souvenir shops where people can wander and not the uninspiring kiosks we have?

As I said some pieces can be used well if converted to recreate something else. I think of the bright mushrooms, (if Frontier deserves us the possibility of being able to create playgrounds, another serious lack of the game after 3 years, especially from a software house capable of making a game on theme parks), which can be inserted in a playground for children, some pieces of wood and joints can be used to recreate more realistic accesses and parts of habitats, the bench and the table to put in an insectarium in the area with many spiders...

For all these reasons, vote is 3

Trees and foliage

The new trees are very beautiful, especially the bare and scary ones that are graphically excellent and will be very useful for certain habitats. The plants less well, I am not particularly enthusiastic, apart from the autumn foliage fallen to the ground, with that you can recreate beautiful scenographies of the autumn season.

Not bad but more could have been done, vote 6

Walktrough exhibit

Another great and very important innovation. This too opens up a myriad of succulent possibilities. I really like their total customization, and the fact that "they adapt to the species that are hosted there" makes me think that it could be used for some species of birds, mammals and even some reptiles.
Of course, in the future, different exhibit or aviary sizes could also be included (something I had been hoping for, for a long time) to house different types of animals.
As for the birds, as other users have said too, I would put some of them inside them, even with looped animations (hummingbirds, sparrows, little parrots).
The highlight is the entrance for the guests, with the panels that move, it is practically identical to those present in the bat houses of the zoos I visited in real life.

Vote: 9 (with the hope that in the future they are made of different sizes and are used in the right way).

Educator Exhibit Demonstrations, Exhibit Backdrops, Population Management, Camera Improvements
Another huge and beautiful novelty!
The exhibit part of PZ has been refreshed a bit for a long time not considered and not valued as it should (I still have to understand why in each DLC there is only one miserable animal for the exhibits). :cautious:
It is absolutely fabulous and realistic to see the educators picking up or on their backs the animals and introducing them to the guests, a very good and necessary function. I just hope that this feature is developed and not left out, especially I imagine and dream it can be used for other animals in the new exhibit, such as small monkeys or parrots on the educator's shoulders, birds of prey on boxing gloves, etc.
The ability to choose the background is very welcome, it increases the freedom and the possibility to imprint your own choices.
The population management is also very useful, which puts a little order on a management system that is not perfect and that needed to be improved.
The improvements to the camera are perfect, they allow a dynamic and free vision, which increases the desire to watch your animals.

Vote: 9 (hoping as I said that it is a starting point for other interesting things and not a point of arrival).

New Biome Skirts
It's not something that particularly interested me at the announcement, unless there were going to be significant changes, but among the list of things I can wish for this is certainly among the last.
Anyway, is it too offensive to say it's useless? Virtually this "change" did not bring anything, a modification of the intangible backgrounds. For example, I would have expected a background with cities for the North American temperate biome, but so is the usual zoo map immersed in nothing.
It would be much more useful to use the various biome skins on any map (for example I love the land of the tropical biome full of foliage, as well as the dry land of the desert biome) but unfortunately they cannot be mixed.

Vote: 4

Ramp Terrain Stamp

A very useful addition, before it was already possible to use a similar functionality thanks to the rotation of the axes, but the introduction of this change seems to facilitate certain changes better.

Vote: 7

Piebaldism

Very nice to see variegated and different skins on our animals, they also give the desire and the stimulus to look for new combinations to be able to host unique animals in your zoo. Always with the hope that it will not be left in oblivion and will also be extended to old and new animals that will enter the game's roster (as for example it should also happen for brachiation).

I can't imagine something more tortuous than that :ROFLMAO: . On a more serious note, thats some great tips I'm always on the look out for more kind of rock textures
Really? What about my Idea I had before it was clear that we can keep small Animals only in Exhibits? At the first Mention of the Brasilian Wandering Spider my first Thought was, Brasilian Wandering Spider Enclosure that Guests can enter. They would be everywhere 😂

Too lazy right now to look up again what exactly they look like but maybe place a Burrow, put the Wombat Gargoyle sticking out of it in a Way that the Wings can't be seen, add Bushes left and right of the Burrow Entrance👍
