🐾 Planet Zoo - Update 1.2 coming 7 April 🐾

Planet Coaster has the ability for lights to be on during the day time, are we getting this feature for Planet Zoo? I would like to make indoor zoo's with lights, instead of always having to turn to night time. This would be a great quality of life feature to have. (if this has been mentioned before, I probably missed it)
I also want this since a really long time. I want to create Indoor-Enclosures where the Roof isn't almost completely made out of Glass. I also want a big Cave that goes really deep into the Ground and can be visited by Guests. But I would need the Possibility to turn Lights on during the Day for these Ideas to work how I want them to be

I am looking forward to this update. It looks like it addresses several of the issues I have seen in the game regarding paths, feeding and the negative effects of staff buildings. The other changes look interesting as well. Will the difficulty settings also apply for franchise mode?

and I wanted the South America so much, but could not believe that there is only four animals
Yep and we are talking about the South America... The same South America the has tons of interesting animals, here we got only 4... let's wait to see what the Frontier as to say if it will continuos like this I will just get really upset I would like to see Dolphins, Whales, Sea turtles, Fishes, Birds(of all type including Pinguins, Kasuar, Kiwi, Kakapo and "all the normal one's" like macaws etc) I would like to see the Iberian Lynx, the sloths.. there are so much animals to add but with only 4 animals for each pack we will never get a huge variety, and I'm with you when you say that we are not against Frontier.. we bought the game.. and if we bought it it's cause we want to play, we want to pay the developers but it doesn't mean that the game couldn't be better.. it could and it should.

It would be worth adding a suggestion thread for this.

Difficulty settings apply across all modes :D

I agree big time.
Unfortunately, posts like this are branded as whining by a lot of other members and mostly ignored by the devs 99% of the time.
Criticism comes from our love for PZ, not because we don't like the game.

I'm so hoping, that they've added a "barrier" item, like we had in PlanCo, to put into Walls if they're built into a path or sthg. That people won't walk through walls and scenery pieces.... :) That's my only wish haha ;) can you tellus anything about that @Chante Goodman?
That would be absolutely great. I don't like it when Guests are walking trough Statues, Walls and other Objects. It isn't possible every time to place the Path so that they don't walk trough it without it not looking very good. This also would make it possible to make my Petting Zoo better because there wouldn't be the Logs from the Terrain-Path all over the Place

Thanks for the feedback. This hasn't been implemented into Update 1.2, but it is something the team will look into for the future. Please keep in mind, this does not mean it is guaranteed to be added. :)

I'd still like to see the Timber Wolf fixed. It needs to be less generalised now that we have the Arctic Wolf as well. It's a rather glaring consistency issue that was raised as soon as the Arctic Pack was released and I don't believe there's ever been any response from Frontier about it.

To reiterate the point, because the Timber Wolf is listed as Canis lupus, it covers every subspecies of grey wolf in the world, including the Arctic wolf. I've advocated for it to be changed to the Eurasian wolf, since that would require the least amount of effort. I don't imagine this would be a hugely monumental task - it would literally just be a case of renaming it in the UI, giving it a new location map (which might be the hardest part), and perhaps working out a more specific Zoopedia entry (I haven't actually read the article myself, so I don't know how much of it would need to be adjusted).

The model and skin wouldn't need to be changed, as both fit the Eurasian wolf just fine. The Eurasian wolf is also the most widespread subspecies and it would give the game a specifically European animal.

I hope the Reindeer will also someday be properly named

Personally I don't think the reindeer is as big a problem, because we don't have another reindeer to compare it to. The timber wolf only became an issue when they gave us the Arctic wolf, because technically speaking we now have the same animal in the game twice (Canis lupus and Canis lupus arctos are the exact same thing). If they went ahead and made, say, the woodland caribou, then I'd advocate for the reindeer to be renamed to something more specific to northern Europe, but currently it's broad strokes and that isn't so bad.

Hello dear developers,
with the new update will the additional dishes finally be labeled, what will they bring?
I mean something like ketchup, ice cubes and co?

That should really be possible, especially since you should know how it works. So it shouldn't be too difficult. I am surprised that it was not yet available at the start because it was the most wanted feature at Planco. Preferably the yellow/black bars in different lengths again and something round to make it under flower pots. The natural way would be also great without the limitations on the side, so just the way and not once. That would be great too for realistic meadows or a small animal zoo to walk through. Thank you so much and good health to you and all of us!!!

There are a lot of popular PlanCo features that seemed to have been excluded from Zoo. The basic glass pieces we're getting in v1.2 were another one a lot of people were surprised not to see in the base game, and the PlanCo vista points .
