🐧 Planet Zoo: Update 1.4.1 and Aquatic Pack out now! 🐧

I do also have this Problem with the Underwater Viewing Area of my Seal Enclosure. I hope they will fix it or does someone maybe has Tips how to make the Animal Visibility trough the Glass better?
The visibility of animals through glass is a problem in this game since its release. On normal glass barriers it is an issue too, but not that bad like underwater.

Ive already built a lot of underwater viewing areas in the past, and most of the time its really hard to see anything through the glass when its not right in front of the barrier.

They made the glass way too dark. It definitely needs more brightness and transparency.

But like i said this is an issue since the release. Already discovered this topic in the beta of game.

I used spotlights inside the pool yesterday, that lightened it up a bit. But to have really clear glass would absolutely be an upgrade.

Does it make a Difference when there are also Lamps outside of the Water? Should I turn them of after I've placed Lamps inside?

This is actually several people reporting this now, there is someone even posting about this in the Feedback section of the forums. I would love to see what your underwater tanks look like...many of us are struggling with the murky view!
From what i understand just as in real life it all has to do with the lightning, soon as im on the pc again and ingame I will snap a screenshot

I don't know, but here is an example (they are placed below the glass barrier and facing towards the rocks/slightly upwards):

I am, by the way, slightly optimistic about my performance issues. I returned to a save game from before the update (but same zoo which was bugged yesterday). I built a much smaller aquatic habitat (containing the caiman now), and I didn't encounter any lags yet. What I designed for the otters yesterday was probably just way too big. So I will try to scale down a bit and hope for the best when I add a second habitat with deep water. Wish me luck!

It seems to be really better even though I can't really compare it to my Seal Enclosure because it's way smaller. Good to hear that it works now better for you. I can't play currently because I need to replace the Cooling Devices in my Computer 😑
At least this should hopefully be less complicated than replacing the Power Supply Unit. But I hate it that I will now need for multiple Days again without playing until they are delivered

I'm glad that one penguin species, one pinniped (seal and sea lion) species and freshwater otters (most zoos had those, especially Malaysians) had been chosen and accepted to be in Planet Zoo.
May I know the next upcoming Dlc? May I know a little hint hard enough for someone to guess?

So I don't know if this is a glitch or not but I noticed as I was get the specs for my new animals that the Gray Seal says it lifespan is 25 years but it age of sexual sterility is 30 years. I believe this should be turned around Otherwise wow we should have ghost mommy and daddy's for another 5 years. Hehe

Did the otters in Planet Zoo had compatabilities? If yes, what?

I believe this is intended. Not all gray seals will die before that time. If they live past the average lifespan and reach the age of sexual sterility, they will become infertile. A few other animals in the game have higher ages of sexual sterility than their respective average lifespans.

Super DLC I finally have my fences that I wanted and the animals that I wanted especially the gray seal because they are too cute and the animals are super well done But I regret one thing is that the animals that lay eggs there has no eggs and its a shame but the rest is awesome Would be cool to do another aquatic pack. (But next time we can decide which animals but I can always dream). Thank you very much for the whole Frontier team deserve it.

The Eelgrass, big (don't know if that's the Name that's used in the English Version) isn't counted in the Plants Tab in the Animal Welfare Window

Edit: thanks for making the Concrete Statues recolorable. I've used them to make a cute Advertisement for my newest Zoo

It also seems like the seals ought to have a larger total group size, seems odd that it's up to 8 with 1-2 males and 1-8 females, seems it ought to be up to 10 there

I'm surfacing from my three day long Planet Zoo-induced haze to come type up my thoughts on the DLC.

- So many flexicolor things, great to see. The more flexicolor, the better!

- The diving is somehow even better than I expected?? I can't believe it, it's incredible. The movements are so individualistic! The penguins like little torpedos, the seals all floppy on land but so graceful in the water, the otters! The otters turn to liquid when swimming! It's amazing! ♥ I have spent too long literally staring at the tilt and shift of the caiman's and salty's body as their tail swishes to propel them through the water.

- Really like the mix between aquatic-specific building pieces and pieces that are more generally useful.

- Grateful to have more aquatic plants, but would appreciate many more. It's still sparse. Good start for it, though!

- Overall I'm just blown away by the quality of this pack. Naturally, I want a billion animals—I'm sure we all do. But I would never want y'all to sacrifice quality for quantity. When every animal is this well made, it makes each one feel significant. I hope you guys keep that up. 🥰

I use that new Metal Fence all the time to create Barriers. I've even found out that the End Piece of it is perfect for creating Petting Zoo Gates and most likely other Stuff too

I do absolutely agree. More aquatic Plants would be great. The ones we've already got are absolutely beautiful. Planting lots of Hydrilla verticillata on the Ground makes a Underwater Area feel so much more alive
