🐧 Planet Zoo: Update 1.4.1 and Aquatic Pack out now! 🐧

No animal infobox in the top right corner anymore when clicking on them. Anyone else with that problem since the update?

Yes. If I click on a event (let's say "Bears are fighting" [sorry playing not english language so translation can be wrong]) and then click on the button to focus the animal, the information panel of the animal will not open. Thereafter clicking on any other animal will also not open the informationen panel of that animal. Opening some other windows brings it back later.

I think will be fixed soon. Could happen. Does not broke my hype for this update and DLC :)

Wait wait wait, now we can't have more than 50 animals anymore??? NO, please no, revert this if that is true. This is a horrible change for breeders like me :( This would make my breeding programs almost impossible to do :(
I absolutely agree with this post. Placing animals in the Storage allowed their aging to be "paused". In my Sandbox Zoo, I have every animal and every baby animal. Sandbox allows you to either pause ageing for all all animals or none. You cannot individually choose animals for their ageing to be paused. If ageing is paused across the zoo, animals cant breed, but if ageing is not paused, animals can breed but will age and it is impossible to keep all the baby animals as babies. The way around this was to place animals you did not want to age in storage so that animals on the outside can age and breed, while keeping the animals in storage safe from ageing. Big Zoos will have more than 50 animals needed to be frozen while breeding occurs on the outside. This feature should be placed back in the game or please create a Sandbox option that allows either to pause aging individually for animals or allow a way for breeding to occur while ageing is paused. (I have to wait to play anyway because I have such a big Zoo, I cant add any more animals without the textures becoming blurry due to hitting the Limit of VRAM, according to Frontier Support and I now require the RTX 3090 which has more VRAM then my current RTX 2080 TI.)

Fixed an issue where the animal storage would allow exceeding the 50 animal limit which could lead to performance issues

I am not that happy about this change! I currently have around 45 animals in my trade center that I want to keep. The remainig spots were for selling animals and the additional spots were used to make sure that I always had some animals to sell and to store good animals for selling until my 5 animals on the market were sold. I still can sell 5 at a time, but I have to release much more than I used to

I don't need to sell anything anymore because I have more than 2 Mio. CC, but I am concerned that this is another nail I'm the coffin of the franchise market

So i placed the new animal talk point on a bridge over the penguin enclosure and it will not function because its above water and an Animal talk point needs to be on land for some odd reason or it will say "Misassigned Species" (Animal Talk point needs to be near the species being educated) what is up with that ? Why can we place it on a guest path that is going over water ? They are right on top of the animals inside the habitat yet it refuses to function , also it says it cant feed because the water is in the way. Hope this gets looked at

Btw why cant we assign more then 1 month to an Animal Talk point, what if i want it used every other month, once a year is just not enough

I keep getting a message that a talking point is inaccessible. Even though it's on a path, connected and people gather. Yet for some reason the educators can't seem to reach it / reach it on time

Yep,can confirm just happened to me two times, after clicking the event that the animal is about to mature. Had to reload the save to fix.

I've been playing a little and this pack is so good! Everything is awesome. I have spent a while watching the turtles. I had never looked at an exhibit more than 5 seconds before. These turtles are adorable! The 4 habitat animals are perfect, but since they are getting all the attention, I want to focus on other things:

The flexicolour wood set and the new rock set are the best addition regarding building pieces since the launch of the game! The new benches, picnic table, lamps... are great and really versatile! They can be used in so many ways...

We finally get new queues! The previous two options were a bit odd. My gondola is going to be remodelled with new queues implemented. The new tab for rides is pretty handy.

The new waterfalls are a surprise. The thing I needed but I didn't know it. I've never managed to create a good waterfall with the older pieces, so this is very convenient. From now on, my zoos will be filled with waterfalls! However, I would have put them in the special effects tab. I find it confusing having waterfalls in two different places. I couldn't find them at the beginning.

The new fonts will be used a lot. Although I like that there's a new tab, again its placement is confusing for me. I would have put them in the signs tab, not in the abstract pieces-

Info panel tabs are now saved when switching between different animals
I've been waiting for this for a long time! This will save many clicks. I wish that someday, when we click on the image of an animal in the lists of animals in the habitat, it opens its tab instead of moving the cam to its location (we already have the location symbol for that). When an animal is hidden in the trees or caves or inside buildings, it's difficult to click on it.

33 new flipped quarter circle roof pieces
Another great feature! I'm so glad it applies to all the previous items in the game.

Once again, congratulations Frontier for an amazing job.

I figured out what that issue is, what happens is the educators goto a Staff room and get stuck in there, you cant move them either. Hope this gets fixed also because now talk points are useless. Also if you delete the staff room they get teleported out of your zoo and you end up with no educators at all need to hire new ones. Also if they dont get stuck then they simply refuse to get to the talk point, Some serious bugs going on here hope Chante and the team see this

This is a great looking pack! I absolutely adore the seals, think I might have a new favourite animal for my zoos :)
I was a bit concerned when I saw that you had updated all staff to fully trained in sandbox mode, as I like training my staff, so was very pleased to see it as an option in the settings.
Can't get over how great the swimming animations look!

Hey folks! Can you share your reports of this with the support team on the issue tracker? I just checked and we've got some reports so it's being investigated! If you can share with them any details you have about which notification, animal etc then it will help speed up the process to find a fix :)

Not liking the new multiselect in franchise -.- Always thought it was an annoyance in the exibit market, as you have to doubble click every animal if you want to check a new one out, otherwise it just selects both and you can't check their stats. A much better option would be like in your zoo overview, where you can check a little box to the left to select multiple animals. This way you can still check the stats of each animal without having to deselect all of them

Hello Zookeepers!

It's time for an Aquatic adventure! We're pleased to announced that free Update 1.4.1 and Planet Zoo: Aquatic Pack have launched! Make sure your game is up-to-date, and get ready to jump in and make a splash!

Update 1.4.1 is free for all the PlanZo Fam, and adds some highly-requested features that will enhance your gameplay experience. In this update, you can expect Animal Talks, something that we know many of you have been looking forward to since we announce them a couple of weeks ago. With the Animal Talks come a new Staff member, the Educator!

We're also adding an Underwater Box Feeder, a new type of feeding station. At this time, animals from the Aquatic Pack and the Saltwater Crocodile (from the base game) are the animals that can use it, but we will be adding this ability to more animals in the roster in the future. We will keep you updated on this as we continue to update Planet Zoo.

You'll also get your hands on the Water Temperature Regulator, a new facility that will allow you to customise the temperature of all water volumes within its range. This will have your animals who enjoy spending time in water feeling even more comfortable in your zoos! We're also adding in a new management screen that will summarise all of the Transport rides in your zoo, a new Challenge Scenario based in the mountains of Luzon, in the Philippines, and free scenery assets for you to play around with!

You can read all about what is included in Update 1.4.1 here.

Our Planet Zoo: Aquatic Pack is adding five iconic, swimming animals: King Penguin, Grey Seal, Giant Otter, Cuvier's Dwarf Caiman and Diamondback Terrapin. The habitat animals in this Pack will be able to deep-swim, which means they will present a brand new set of considerations when adding them into your zoos! Make sure you visit the Zoopedia to see how to keep them feeling happy and cared for.

The 170+ scenery, building, and foliage pieces in the Aquatic Pack have a modern feel, so that you can get the max amount of versatility from them. This is thanks to both community feedback, and also because the animals in the Pack represent a much wider range of habitats and climates. The team based the scenery choices on what you may see occurring in the wild, and how Zoo's themselves replicate those objects for practical, functional and aesthetically sensitive solutions - revolving around the idea of 'fake' rocks and trees, and how they work in habitats suitable for water based animals.
You'll also be tasked with a new Timed Scenario, in a zoo that's based in a drained riverbed in Oregon, USA! This zoo lacks space, but it has a lot of elevation for you to play around with. We know you're up to the challenge of making this zoo a success!

Planet Zoo: Aquatic Pack will be available to purchase from Steam for £7.99 ($9.99, €9.99). You must have the Planet Zoo base game in order to download and play this extra content. Update 1.4.1 is available for all players to download and enjoy right now, for free!

Thank you, everybody in our incredible PlanZo Fam, for all of your support and feedback. We hope you have an absolutely brilliant time playing Update 1.4.1 and the Aquatic Pack! Please keep an eye on our forums and social media channels for all news and announcements, and make sure to tune into our Planet Zoo: Aquatic Pack showcase stream at 12:30PM UTC today!

Now go play and enjoy!

(For this update, the team have gone straight ahead to Update 1.4.1 - this includes 1.4 and bug fixes that were scheduled for 1.4.1!)

UPDATE NOTES:
Planet Zoo - 1.4.1 Update Notes
This update contains many more bug fixes, updates and some new content.
Animals

  • NEW* - Deep Swimming
    • Brand new for 1.4 is the deep swimming system. All habitat animals in the Aquatic Pack are equipped with the ability to deep swim, additionally we have also added deep swimming to the Saltwater Crocodile.
    • Deep swimming animals are able to swim smoothly underwater, using a combination of a flexible spine and subtle animations. Each species will balance their need to swim against other types of behaviour, such as those on land. They are also capable of eating from the new underwater feeding station.
  • NEW* - Deep Water
    • Deep swimming animals require a minimum area size and depth in their habitat, and will only display deep swimming behaviour if this requirement is fulfilled. Specific species may have their welfare affected if these space requirements are not met.
    • This information is located in the animal info UI and related information panels:
      • Water depth requirements are present on info panels next to the existing land and surface area requirements.
        • Zoopedia: Natural Habitat section
        • Animal info panel: Terrain tab
        • Habitat info panel: Terrain tab
  • NEW* - Underwater Feeder
    • The Underwater Box Feeder, a new feeding station, will be available for everyone as part of the 1.4.0 update. All deep swimming animals (Saltwater Crocodile from the base game and the Aquatic Pack animals) will be able to use this in game.
    • When using this feeder, like any other food enrichment, its Information Panel will provide you with details on its food capacity, usage by animals, and food suitability.
    • Additionally, there will be a status bar that will tell you if the feeder has been placed in deep enough water for the fish particles to appear. If the feeder has not been placed deep enough keepers will not fill the feeder and animals will be unable to use it.
  • General Animal Bug Fixes and Improvements
    • Fixed incorrect numbers displayed on lifetime stats for exhibits.
    • Updated the red eyed tree frog and golden poison frog population numbers to reduce rapid breeding into low welfare. Players should find these 2 species easier to use.
    • Fixed an issue where the animal storage would allow exceeding the 50 animal limit which could lead to performance issues.
    • Adjusted Polar Bear, Arctic Wolf, and Reindeer info boards so that the maps now reflect distinct areas between Arctic and Antarctic.
    • Exhibits - Humidity is now set to the ambient temperature automatically on exhibit placement, instead of being variable to ambient until set. This should make feedback more consistent and obvious.
    • Added detail on bonding information inside the Social tab for animals that have a single mate. If an animal is currently mourning for their missing mate, it will temporarily prevent a new bond from being formed.
    • Extended biomes for some animals based on player feedback and research:
      • Desert:
        • Cheetah
        • African Wild Dog
        • Common Ostrich
      • Taiga:
        • Giant Panda
        • Formosan Black Bear
    • Made the small ball enrichment's available to the Arctic Wolf.
    • The Indian Rhino will now sometimes prefer to walk in shallow water, in addition to its usual land-based walking and surface swimming behaviours.
    • Fixed Dingo disappearing when moving camera closer to the body while using the Water Pool Enrichment.
    • Fixed a bug where social grouping and follow behaviours sometimes ended prematurely, resulting in diminished herding.
    • General audio bug fixes and improvements.
New Content
  • Timed Scenario
    • A new timed scenario set in the mountains of Luzon. Help push conservational awareness by transforming disused rice terraces into a beacon of conservation ready for the grand opening ceremonies. Available in the free 1.4 update.
  • Animal Talks
    • As a new way to educate and entertain your guests, Animal Talks can now be scheduled in your zoos. Guests will gather at the designated talk point to watch a live presentation held by an Educator to learn about the animals in your zoo.
    • Animal Talk points are purchased from the Education facilities menu and can be freely placed around paths in your zoos.
    • Animal Talks can be customized and scheduled on the point’s info panel.
      • Select a nearby species as the target of the presentation.
      • Schedule at which time of the year the Animal Talk will be held.
      • Set the mood for upcoming talks by selecting music to play while not active.
    • Clever placement of Animal Talk points next to habitats with low enough barriers will allow the Educator to feed some animals during their presentation.
    • Some of the more curious animals in your zoos will be interested to check out just what your guests are looking at. Keep an eye out for some bold individuals showing off!
    • A new staff type, the Educator, has been added to the game to tend to Animal Talks.
      • Educators can be hired through the staff panel like any other staff member.
      • They can be assigned specific Animal Talks via the workzone manager, or will take care of Animal Talks autonomously.
      • Like other staff members, Educators can be trained to maximise the impact Animal Talks have on your guests.
    • The new Animal Talks management UI helps you keep an overview of all talks scheduled and available in your zoo.
    • New Animal Talk animations and audio have been added to a select list of adult animals, which have a chance to play during an Animal Talk in their habitat:
      • African Elephant
      • African Wild Dog
      • Arctic Wolf
      • Bengal Tiger

      • Giant Panda
      • Grey Seal
      • Grizzly Bear
      • Himalayan Brown Bear
      • Hippopotamus
      • Indian Elephant
      • Indian Peafowl
      • Indian Rhinoceros
      • Japanese Macaque
      • King Penguin

  • Water Temperature Regulator
With Update 1.4, we'll be adding a new Water Temperature Regulator facility that will allow you to customise the temperature of all water volumes within its range. This will help you have full control over the welfare of animals that like to spend a lot of time in the water, which will allow you to ensure your animals have maximum comfort in your care.
Using the Water Temperature Regulator Information Info Panel, the facility can be customised to suit the layout and requirements in your zoos, as you'll be able to:
  • Adjust the Regulator's effective range
  • Adjust the target temperature all water volumes in range should be regulated to
  • There will also be a new Heat map mode added to the Water overview for the Water Temperature Regulator, that will show you:
    • The current range of each Water Temperature Regulator in your zoo
    • The temperature each Water Temperature Regulator is set to
    • The temperature of each volume of water in your zoo
  • Transport ride management screen
    • Update 1.4 will include a new management screen that will summarise all of the Transport rides in the zoo. This screen will enable you to make faster and more accurate decisions about your transport rides to better manage your zoo.

      • The number of different rides
      • The most popular ride in your zoo
      • The most popular station in your zoo
      • The total annual profit for all rides
      • The total number of guests that have used the rides in the current year

  • In Franchise and Challenge modes the new "Thick Glass" barrier type is not available to research if you load a save where the barrier research is already fully completed. The new "Thick Glass" barrier type is available in sandbox mode.
That dlc featuring aquatic animals could have alligators instead of caimans.

Another issue with the Animal Talk point, for some reason they cant throw food through barriers ? Not even the ones that have giant holes in them so food should be able to go through them.like the steel mesh one

Hey folks! Can you share your reports of this with the support team on the issue tracker? I just checked and we've got some reports so it's being investigated! If you can share with them any details you have about which notification, animal etc then it will help speed up the process to find a fix :)

Thanks to let us know :) Added my comment. For everyone else who has this issue you can find one ticket here:

And again. Thank you for this great update and Aquatic DLC :)

I gues 1 of the big issues also with Animal Talk is that the educators are always in the staff room resting even if you have the option turned off in sandbox so they dont get tired they alway goto the staff room and then end up late for animal talk.

Yes, as I understand from one of the videos a player published on youtube (who had early access) it seems to be a recommendation that the staff room is close enough to the place where the Animal Talk should be done.

Anyone else also experiencing the issue with the Animal Talks where guest walk towards it stand there but justs before the time comes that it starts a large group walks away, gues the times aint really optimized yet for animal talks
