Nothing against the animal in particular nor the model.
But we have 8 bears, representing 7/8 of the bear species. I'll rather not even calculate ratio of primates or birds as it'd be really embarrassing.
Also, justifying an animal inclusion by how good the model looks is a very poor argument. Why would a duck not look equally good?
But hey, different opinions and that's all good.
It just feels like the nail on the coffin for most of the issues I’ve had with PZ and Frontier for awhile.
I one year we got 1/3rd of the games birds. But if you like at the birds as individuals families and not as a whole group it’s really sad. If you like ratites and penguins you are in a good spot, however if you want:
- More than one flamingo, crane, or pheasant.
- Another waterfowl species.
- Literally the top birds on the meta wishlist, which have been there for a long time!
You are just out of luck. If we do the same thing with monkeys, we see that PZ has only one New World monkey species. Which is also sad for the best zoo game ever made.
With low birds and low monkeys that just ties around to the South America issue, which suffers from both of these.
On the real though, this is a zookeeper pack. Despite being a pack for the keepers this has none of the common bird habitat species that we know Frontier can do:
- No American flamingo
- No grey crowned crane
- No great white pelican
- No waterfowl species
- No pheasant species
- No Guinea fowl
- No Rhea species for South America
Like I said, this pack looks great. Knowing this game is ending on 12 birds though, that is putting a sour taste in my mouth.
