Planet Zoo's Potential Remaining DLC Themes for 2024

It's a bold assumption to think we are definitely getting further DLC and support in the next calendar year, though I seriously hope that we do. With that being said, I wanted to put some thought down on what any further potential DLC could be themed around. So far, we have received:
  • Arctic Scenery Pack
  • South American Scenery Pack
  • Australian Scenery Pack
  • Aquatic Scenery Pack
  • Southeast Asian Animal Pack
  • African Scenery Pack
  • North American Animal Pack
  • European Scenery Pack
  • Wetland Animal Pack
  • Conservation Scenery Pack
  • Twilight Scenery Pack
  • Grassland Animal Pack
  • Tropical Scenery Pack
  • Arid Animal Pack
  • Oceania Scenery Pack
  • Eurasian Animal Pack
  • 3 deluxe animals (pygmy hippo, Thompson's gazelle and Komodo dragon)
  • 3 free animals (black-and-white ruffed lemur, red deer, collared peccary)
So with that out of the way, some of the potential remaining themes could realistically be:
  • The Americas Animal Pack
  • Central American Scenery Pack
  • Caribbean Scenery Pack
  • South American Animal Pack
  • Arboreal Animal Pack
  • Nocturnal House Scenery Pack
  • Coastal Animal Pack
  • African Animal Pack
  • Asian Animal Pack
  • Forest Animal Pack
  • Mountain Scenery Pack
  • Mountain Animal Pack
  • Endangered Animal Pack
  • Petting Zoo Scenery Pack
  • Waterfowl and Terrestrial Bird Animal Pack
  • Aviary Deluxe DLC (This is still a big stretch imo)
Any others that you think I might have missed? Feel free to flesh some of these out with the animals of your choice as well.

There's been talk of basically combining Central and South America together into the Latin America animal pack, since many of those species can be found in both places.

Another idea is the Farm pack, which is sorta like the petting zoo idea, but with barnyard animals. For that, I'd do domestic animals that aren't super common. Could include turkeys, ankole-watusi cattle, maybe the domestic donkey?

I also like the idea of a Forest pack, but as a scenery pack. We could get some missing temperate species and/or tropical species. Could include the American black bear, coatis, pheasants, even some waterfowl

I had to add Forests not sure how I forgot such an obvious one, oops

A pattern we've noticed is that animal packs have 6/8 clones, with the other 2 being more unique rigs. Scenery packs can be all unique or 4/5 unique rigs. For animal packs, I'd do more clone species that'll flesh out the roster and scenery packs could be where we go all out on animal choices

Arboreal Animal Pack
Since we got Aquatic & Conservation as a concept, this idea works well.

Tree Kangaroo
Black Howler Monkey
Tamandua
Golden Snub Nose Monkey
Coati
Spider monkey
Sifaka
Exhibit: Two Toed Sloth

Alternatives: Common Spotted Cuscus (beautiful fur pattern), Aye Aye, Kinkajou,
Exhibit: Emerald/Green Tree Boa or Chameleon

I really hope we get at least one more DLC focused on latinamerica, otherwise i will be very sad. I have hope that we Will get support next year all year but yesterday i watched a video Rudi made about the Eurasia pack and got me worried.

I find that he did it only for clicks and attention, Frontier will not abandon their most profitable game (PZ) as long as it remains profitable. The future for flying birds and aquariums in Planet Zoo is not looking promising, but Planet Zoo itself has an endless amount of animals we want and a strong customer base that will financially continue to support it, which is what this company wants after all.

Urban pack was a sleeper pick but now we got the wild boar I can't really see it happening unless we go quite niche.

Yeah. If this is the pack that they made as the last one is really underwhelming. That's why i think that there is more to come. But he pointed out the wording on the campaign scenario being about saying goodbye and retiring. Although i think that could be a nod to the people of their team that got lay off as well.

Petting Zoo Pack / Domestic Pack

Nigerian Dwarf Goat
Miniature Donkey or Shetland Pony
Highland Cattle or Alpaca
Bunnies/Rabbits or Guinea Pigs or Ducks
Exhibit: Chameleon

Scenery items of a european/american farm theme and playground objects, maybe even interactive and usable by the guests

I agree, I think that this is just because of the lay offs and a lot of people "retiring" from Frontier directly.

If after the swan we don't get a duck in a domestics pack i'll be very dissapointed

If you don't mind I'm listing my own personal wants for each one! This is NOT what the game needs just what I'd be happy about. Alot of these probably won't make it in and it would be good from a balanced zoo game perspective...
  • The Americas Animal Pack Grey Fox
  • Central American Scenery Pack White-nosed Coati
  • Caribbean Scenery Pack American Flamingo
  • South American Animal Pack Crab-eating Fox
  • Arboreal Animal Pack Fanaloka (NO Idea if it climbs trees I just want to mention it haha speaking of discover I discovered it on Instagram few days ago)
  • Nocturnal House Scenery Pack Tanuki
  • Coastal Animal Pack Seagull
  • African Animal Pack Bat-eared Fox
  • Asian Animal Pack Japanese Serow
  • Forest Animal Pack Red Wolf
  • Mountain Scenery Pack Tibetan Fox (even though its technically NOT mountains I could see Frontier putting highlands in general in)
  • Mountain Animal Pack Bighorn Sheep
  • Endangered Animal Pack Mexican Grey Wolf
  • Petting Zoo Scenery Pack Pomeranian (HAHA JK) Scottish Highland Cow
  • Waterfowl and Terrestrial Bird Animal Pack Demoiselle Crane
  • Aviary Deluxe DLC (This is still a big stretch imo) Dove (any)

Themes I could see happening:
  • Latin or Central America (animal pack if Latin, scenery pack if Central)
  • Temperate (probably a scenery pack with log cabin/north american scenery)
  • Coastal (probably scenery focused perhaps on Mediterranean or Caribbean architecture? Would ideally give us loads of oceanic foliage)
  • Mountains (can still happen, probably as an animal pack)
  • Safari (certainly an animal pack)
  • Farmyard (probably a scenery pack, but theoretically could work as an animal pack)
  • Tudra (probably scenery, due to limited choice)

I can't really see taxonomic or feature based packs happening, I think they'll all be biome or location based from now on.

I think Central America/Latin America/Caribbean could be one of the few "easy" scenery pack ideas left if they are going to continue to do scenery packs provided we get DLC, though personally, I'd rather just get animal packs at this point unless it's something like a full blown Aviary Expansion etc.

A South American Animals pack is still so obvious and imo it would be a huge shame not to get this:
  • Black howler monkey
  • Mexican spider monkey
  • White-nosed coati
  • American flamingo
  • Spectacled bear
  • Ocelot
  • Patagonian mara
  • Any one of hundreds of options for an exhibit animal (would personally want an emerald tree boa or eyelash viper)

Great thread. What would you say for a voting for the most possible/needed packs of 2024 with the most possible leading animal?

I reckon for the end of the financial year, I’d choose:

Farmyard Pack in Spring (Dutch Rabbit, African Dwarf Goat, Common Mallard Duck, Scottish Highland Cattle)
Latin America Animal Pack in Summer (White Nosed Coati, Southern Tamandua, Greater Rhea, Spectacled Bear, Patagonian Mara, Black and Gold Howler, Geoffroy’s Spider Monkey)

And then, if support continues to the end of the end of the calendar year:

Coastal Pack in Autumn (Pacific Walrus, Brown Pelican, Alaskan Sea Otter, Atlantic Puffin)
Mountains Animal Pack in Winter (Bukharan Markhor, Alpine Marmot, Roosevelt Elk, North American Black Bear, Barbary Macaque, Gelada, Yak)

I really doubt support will continue after that. This is as far as I’d dare to dream.

Except for the farm pack (although i do like that roster and a rebbit for easter is just perfect timing) i have the same thoughts about the future packs. I will replace the Bárbary Macaque with a bird preferibly Golden pheasant, would add spectacled bear in mountain pack and Open slot for ocelot in LAM pack.

Is hard to think that with just these i'll never get blackbuck, musk ox, secretary, grey crowned crane and Scarlet ibis/roseate spoonbill though :(

I sadly have nothing to add to the lower list, but damn, just reading through the absolute bulk of that first list is so awesome. We‘ve really come far with this game!
