So I just got back from a passenger mission and was looking for a new passenger mission and some of the ones I was looking at had a requirement of a 'planetary landing module' so I googled for this module because I've never seen it before and I had a quick search on the forums and there's no record of it, so what is it? I'm partly excited but mostly confused.

Basically something has gone wrong with the base game where it doesn't recognise that you have Horizons. Just take a look at planets that you should he able to land on and see if the landable icon appears. If not, your account is infected.
Other things you can confirm- launching SLFs, landing on planets, going into the livery screen, among other things.
Could be something different of course, but your description is awfully familiar.

Sorry if it's already been said, last time I checked, that slot is not usable for anything else.
Now that everyone has Horizons, it should be rolled into all ships (along with auto computers) and removed from outfitting. It can only serve as a point of confusion from here on out otherwise. Unfortunately, all things ship related are likely gonna be shelved in terms of development for some time.
More heavily inflated shields/hulls leading to even easier PVE and even lengthier PVP. No thanks. Just roll it into the ships and get rid of the slot it took up. They already gave all ships an extra class 1 not long after Horizons.

Not in favor further internal slot inflation.
Also, being able to uninstall the module has some niche uses revolving around the fact that the orbital cruise zone with the module equipped is generally much further out than the exclusion zone of a landable planet without it equipped.
It isn't, and I doubt FD would remove or free up the slot as there will likely be a new version of the module that will be needed to land on tenuous planets in Odyssey.

It isn’t part of the base game it just gets sold as a bundle with it, any one who was happy just running the base game can still do so.
I sold it several times, I think you get about 10 credits.

They said it was free not that it was usable.
This was the problem, the game wasn't recognising my module and or my Horizons DLC, I just had to close & restart to fix, it confused me because of the name "Planetary Landing Module" I didn't think this was Planetary Approach Suite.
