Looks pretty good to me.Finally!
As you get closer the graphics render, so I wouldn't worry too much.
It's a massive game and consoles can't handle graphics like PC do.
Maybe the OPs screenshot was from an earlier build of Horizons, but that does look pretty bad.

However, as you approach planets, the higher res textures stream in and it looks fine. Once you are at the planets surface, the graphical quality is very good IMO, and yields little to the PC build.
I wouldn't have any concerns for the terrain quality on the PS4.
And frankly I do not understand the "as you approach they load up" argument. That's a picture of a canyon flyby: you can't get much closer than that without landing...
But OK, let's be optimistic and hope that the improvements in the next patch and the PS4 optimization will do the trick.
No, the OP picture is from just a few days ago.
I think people need to understand both the xbox and ps are essentially running on very old hardware compared to pc some compromises have had to be made to get it running at all
With the xbox and planetary landings it's been the lod distance settings you see the changes quite obviously the closer you get.
Hopefully the ps4 has a smoother transition but until we see it running on a stock ps4 we won't know!
Hint hint, FDev
I'm happy to have a PS4Pro + UHD tv.
Looking at the altimeter, the screenshot was taken at 10.5Km from the planet surface, so still quite a way up. It's not like he was just coming in to land.

It's quite deceptive when you are coming towards a planet as to how far away from the surface you are just from eyeballing it (well at least it is to me). Guess that's why we have instruments!
Hahaha... I am so happy. I got a PC.
