player owned capital ships

so you know those ranks king and admiral and how they are the most useless things, well what if they allowed the player to own a capital ship from that faction have it controlled similar to a fc but youd only have to pay for repairs and jump costs and the federation/empire fund the rest as you have a rank high enough to have that sort of influence in that power. thoughts ??

you have ranks in the superpower auxiliary navy, not in their navy.

look up what the Swedish Auxiliary Naval Corps does: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedish_Auxiliary_Naval_Corps

I'd think as an admiral of the federal auxiliary navy you are more likely to run summer schools for zero-g-swimming, than command a capital ship.

i would love the possibility to do those in game. King goemon invites a group of teenies to learn about navigation, first aid, fa-off, military demeanour, military history, defence knowledge, friendship, and everything else a navy man or woman is expected to be.

Suggestion: Make the Farragut Battle Cruiser unlockable and playable at the Federation rank of Admiral. Make the Majestic Class Interdictor unlockable and playable at the Imperial rank of King. Introduce an Alliance rank system, with the Panther Clipper as the top tier unlockable and playable ship. Make the Panther Clipper the best top tier trade ship. Make the Majestic Class Interdictor inferior in combat, when compared to the Farragut, inferior in trade, when compared to the Panther Clipper, but overall the best multipurpose and best explorer of the three.
CMDR Enigma, I made this suggestion back in 2019, before players had Fleet Carriers. Back then, I tried to imagine how the Corvette, Anaconda and Clipper compared to one another. Right or wrong, I came to the conclusion that the Corvette was probably best at combat, the Anaconda the best multi-role and explorer, the Clipper the best trader. Based on that, I imagined that the Farragut would be the best combat ship, the Majestic the best multi-role and explorer, the Panther Clipper the go to trade ship. o7

As much as I like this idea, the existence and implementation of FC's makes me wary. It's almost certain that such a ship would operate on many of the same principals, but magnified several times.

I also have to think of it could be implemented, used, and it's impact in ED, keepign in mind how Frontier's gone about such in the past, and I'm not even convinced it would actually even be a good thing in totality.

This one.

You aren't part of the actual navy, ergo you don't have access to any military or command at all within factions... that's without going near the fact you're an Independent Pilot's Federation Commander, and not actually enlisted. This is underpins virtually all interactions in the game.

Cap ships may be all the same as FCs with one difference - they can jump also into a Conflict Zone or any other known signal in the system, after which it stays there and fire enemies at will.
