Dude, don't listen to those guys. If you're not raiding with hatchbreakers, then you're a chump, yo.
Listen to them on everything else though - they've given you plenty of good advice, and since I don't fly a clipper I can't comment in regards to
that ship. It really depends on how you choose to conduct your piracy, and eventually after you pirate a bit and find your groove, you'll figure out what works best for you.
Standard PvP modules, i.e. thermal shields, resistance boosters are always great. FSD Disruptor missiles are one of your most valuable tools, because lots of people give up when their FSD fails them.
Weapons besides are whatever works best for your style. You don't need heavy thermal weapons because (a) hatchbreakers go through shields, and (b) most trader shields are so soft (either through poor outfitting ot mis-management) that you don't need tons of thermal DPS anyways. On the other hand, you don't need super heavy kinetic/explosive weapons unless you're intent on one-shotting runners. I carry a mish-mash of effects on my weapons to encourage the target to panic. It causes them to either submit, or screw up their evasion and escape jump.... then you either talk them out of their cargo peacefully, or just contain and hatchbreak them. Either way you get cargo and a fun encounter.
Personally, I'm a catch and release guy unless the fish tries to bite me.
Like duderama said - communication is key, and aside from scripted messages, another nice thing about hatchbreakers is they let the target know that you're not just out for a gank.
