The "Dangerous" in the name comes from the player rating in Elite - thought you should know that. Besides which, using the "Well it's called Dangerous" trope is no justification for the behaviour being described here - that behaviour is an abuse of the game machanics - it's taking advantage of something which has been overlooked during development of the game.

Is that so. That means it's entirely redundant and rather silly.
My 'dangerous' comment is, in short, to point out that anything can happen in a MMO. Innovation, exploits, un-forseen tactics and mechanics will occur and many of them often surprise the devs. Some are remedied as obvious exploits - exploit being defined as a mechanic that gives a player a very unfair advantage and cannot be remedied by actions of other players. In the case of your station monkey, what would you do in such a case? Handle it like a 'real world' problem - you might form an adhoc possy and hunt him down. Any scenario you come up with would be plenty of fun, but removing innovation is not only lazy, it's just plain un-real and un-fun.
Buy a Python and never take damage
That ship was too "Dangerous" for this crowd, so they are changing that.
Bet this guy was first in line about how "op" the ship was, too dangerous for him.

Without wanting to steal the rage from this thread, is there any chance some new player boosted whilst docking instead of deploying undercarriage?

Probably just used to differentiate between Elite, Frontier: Elite II, and Elite: Final Frontier. (Besides which, yeah, Elite: Dangerous does have certain juicy conotations so I don't think Frontier were entirely innocent in the choice of name).
I don't think I've ever said I was against what the miscreant is doing - as a bounty hunter he's merely just another potential juicy bounty to me.
