Playing scenario, water purifier not working well

hello!
Playing one scenario, forgot its name, it is set in Africa.
One water purifier is powering two lakes (or one interconnected, do not remember) and many animals are getting sick because the water is nasty (it is getting a green hue in the special view). The purifier is running and not broken.

Am I supposed to add another purifier or replace that one, or... hmm. What do you think?

The scenario is buggy, currently playing that one. I should be still be a able to Gold Star as most of the goals are achievable quite easily. Running 3 purifiers covering the lake and still get sick animals.

Yeap, I tried to build other 2 purifiers but that didn't help much. Neither way I was able to get the Gold star without a problem.

I’m gonna quote myself if you don’t mind :)

Oh boy here we go again!

Great Caldera is broken. The water do get clean, but slooooowly, it takes the water treatment a year to clean it and it’s dirty again in 2-3 months, so it’s completely useless. If you wish to complete this scenario:

  • Put all your vets to research illnesses. Wish I could give you names, but my game it’s not in English, so just watch whatever your animals catch and research that. It will solve the crisis faster.
  • Put a fence around the lake, it will slow down the speed at which animals get sick. Yes, only slow down, because the animals gently caressing love the infested lake so much that will CLIP TROUGH THE FENCE to drink from it. Even if the fence is nowhere close to the water.
  • But leave a tiny portion without any fence, in a rock or something. No with invisible fence, but no fence at all. Again animals love their polluted water, and if you close the access completely, they will break everything and escape constantly. Reducing the access only will need to fish them from water from time to time.
  • Still, hire mechanics and reduce the time they revise the fences, because they will still broke them. Their forbidden liquid love is too strong.
  • Don’t forget your put fountains and other sources of water for them to drink!
  • And elephants will also need a lake for themselves. Be careful with the ride underground.
Miscellaneous advice for this scenario:
  • Focus on the objectives , nothing more. Don’t try to fix the safari. Don’t try to optimize things or make them prettier. It’s broken and it’s a waste of time. Quicker you act, less you will suffer.
  • Leave only a pair of African wild dogs. They are broken and will kill each other if there’s more than 2 on the enclosure.
  • Fire all the staff that it’s not 1 star (2 if you feel generous). Replace them with new, minimal wage people. It’s cruel but since protestors will make you lose so much money it’s just how this scenario works right now.
  • Cover the place in bins. People are nasty. Don’t forget to get janitors for the trash.
  • And the additional space goes for any educational thing you can shove.
  • Don’t bother expanding the zoo for new habitats, just put them on the ride route. Remember, no animal shall access the lake!
  • Breed and release, breed and release, breed and release.
  • Tons of marketing is your friend with the last guests goal.
I got gold today, so I can happily return to pretend this scenario doesn’t exist. But...I’m actually glad I made it, because the story part. Otherwise, the next one must be really disorienting.

So how will this affect those of us whose Franchise zoo is ruined because of this "poo in the water" bug? Restarting a zoo that I've put 150 hours in is not a good solution.
The fact that ot suggested the scenario needs to be restarted is why I asked for clarification on what is actually being fixed. Because it makes it sound to me like what is being fixed is something more to do with the scenario.

Unless the fix is to PREVENT poo from getting in water rather than the system being able to clean it FROM water. In which case the scenario would need to be restarted because you can't remove the water but in our own zoos, while it would be a real pain, we could remove the water, get keepers to clean, then replace the water.

Still I don't know why they would fix it this way rather than simply make it so that the poo in the water can be cleaned.

Therein lies my concern. While the game mechanics allow me to remove water & refill, in my zoo design it is not practical, which is why I am no longer playing the game. My river runs through several habitats. Last time I fixed this issue, it took me over 30 minutes to box up & move all the animals (around 50), drain the river, clean each habitat, refill the water, then move the animals back. Once back inside, when I unpaused the game, I was able to play for 15 minutes before the water was mud brown again. If their fix doesn't address cleaning of the water, then my zoo will remain in it's ruined state.
