Great news for the PS4 crowd and FD.
Would be excellent if there was a an extra Open option where all, irrespective of platform, could choose to play in the same galaxy.

From the PS4 release FAQ:
Will full 4K be supported for Elite Dangerous on the PS4™Pro?
Elite Dangerous will feature enhanced performance on PS4™Pro. We’ll have more to information about this closer to release.

That tells me nothing. Typical FDev response. We are awaiting this 'more information'.

I've not really cared much about 4K up to this point. ED might be the game to push me over the edge. Things like the star field would actually take advantage of those extra pixels, and HDR in space will look amazing if done right. I'll let all you folk with the $$$$$$ test this for me first ;)

No but if a game supports 4K it usually can support "supersampling" down to 1080p which will improve the image quality, HZD does this to very, very good effect on the Pro. At this point we still have no idea what FDev are doing with the Pro, I am not holding my breath that they will be as close to the hardware as Guerrilla Games (HZD) are due to them being first party. Still there is always hope. Hopefully Sony are on board to assist. :)

Horizon Zero Dawn was the game that made me realise that 4k is the future. HZD uses checkerboarding up to native 2160p (yup, pixel count says full 4k) with minimal checkerboarding artifacts.
Sure the star field will look great in ED, but it's the crisp image with no visible jaggies is what I am after. :)
The Pro does have special hardware support for checkerboard render I think, so skipping it is a missed opportunity.

Edit: The Pro includes specialised hardware to enable checkerboard rendering at a very low cost, according to Wikipedia.

Great news. Now just have to wait until E3 to determine whether I get PSVR for ED launch :D

Goldwinder seems nice, but only gives a shiny target for the pirates to aim at lol
