What's the point of an autopilot if it doesn't save time? So OP can reduce the procedure to staring at the screen?
I'd rather have it more varied: Gravitational pull (no, the ship slowing down near masses is not gravity, that would be the opposite of it) and more degrees of freedom for the motion of the ship rather than it behaving like a pearl sliding down a chain, so that the ship can go into a spin and give you all sorts of reason to use your skills, because you don't want to fall unconscious and/or your ship to suffer damage because of inertial forces. Also: collisions with celestial bodies pls
EDIT: And interdictions that are harder to avoid and (rare?) interdictions by wings.
