Please buff docking!

I'd like Bens hat put on the bow of my ship after every docking for extra shielding. :)

Discreet tinfoil that makes me face gwan funny.

But on a more serious note can we do a CG (also known as a community goal) so docking computers aren't permit locked.Derrrr!

OK well they should at least be a utility and not a optional slot. Think about it. They're not optional.

Really? Docking became quite exhilarating when they (who?) specified a 100m/s minimum speed limit.

(Recently added a trader with DC just to experience the joy)

One thing that I have never read in the DC debate is the joy of looking around taking in the view while the DC does its thing going through the toast rack.

Quite enjoyable, putting ones feet up, a chance to appreciate the scenery that normally spins past you while ricocheting through the mailslot.

Perhaps more of the game could be automated to allow players to appreciate the designers' efforts?

I would even risk using the debug camera when docking if we had the normal control of it.

I nearly overstayed my welcome trying to land my cutter. I need to remember to deploy landing gear. I was listening to the radio and missed the warning. I was up/down left/right back/forwards for ages thinking what is going on here. As my timer approached the end of the allotted time I was getting ready to split when I noticed...the blue box was empty...I am an idiot.

Ive been playing this game for 2 years and yet I can still miss the formalities.

and my net trading last night ended in a loss. I kept taking the wrong stuff to the wrong places. So I went and watched telly instead. Safer.

More credits please

It's true, credits per hour is way below all the other activities. Should be at least 1mill per hour. Since out then in again takes at least 2 minutes, each dock should net 35k min.

Wait, sorry, missed a zero. 10 mill per hour. 350k per dock.

From a station owner's point of view. You have the finances the wrong way around.
Stations should charge you for using the facilities. Docking with a discount if you use a DC (less chance of damage to the station), air and food, storage of ships and modules etc.

But don't tell FD ;)

I think they already know, after all Frontier and FFE charged you a nominal fee to dock from 1-4Cr per day if I remember correctly. I do agree if docking computer is used and your ship isnt in to bad a shape then this could be reduced after all a deathtrap on a landing pad doesnt inspire other space users to dock near it but a shiny perfect ship wont raise any alarm bells :)

I might be in for an expensive time in future.

But Ben, if I land my shieldless cutter on a high G planet it's possible for me to lose it if I handle it wrong.

That costs me credits, and that might mean not being able to buy another ship. Therefore the gaming is stopping me from playing how I want.

Nerf death.

Buff docking?

- Extra padding on the landing pad for leadfoots?

- More polished/buffed station interior?

- Buff docking security so they shoot us faster?

On a more serious note, should we not have docking fees or some tax?

- Base cost for landing pad size (100 / 500 / 1000)
- Added cost for ship tonnage (Laden) at 10 credits per tonnage
- Tax on profits (Does not apply to black markets)

- Buff docking security so they shoot us faster?

I don't think we need that. I was shot at by a station today as I was exiting it. It opened fire on a NPC and I was in the way. I lost half a ring of shields in the process and the station was not fined. I was not wanted nor do I have outstanding fines nor bounties.
I was carrying clean passengers and I demand compensation.
