Please commit to rerolling the planets...

Looking back, I wonder if that was really an error. It shouldn't have been necessary to touch other aspects of the terrain geometry if it was an artifact. A simple filter to clip the artifacts should have been sufficient. But well... i'm not part of the FDev team, so i probably underestimate the issus.
They were. They were pretty much no-go zones in Alpha. Now, it's possible to navigate them - which is a relief because there are some planets out there that are nothing but that kind of terrain with a few rubble dusted areas.

You didn't even answer the question....

I don't think anyone expected a rose garden (they'd have been disappointed anyway with the new plastic flora!), but they didn't expect to have their gameplay actually removed. That it was is a problem for them, and me.

Your points about adaptation illustrate how poorly you understand the issue, and an inability to consider it - like an old dog unable to learn new tricks. This ignorance should not be the basis upon which anyone writes off an entire activity enjoyed by hundreds of players, nor should some weird prejudice or faux-outrage at complaints. No hyperbole here.

Calling for terrain to be changed to allow for extreme flying poses no threat to other styles of play. It could even enhance the experience for others and offer the opportunity to do so if they wished. It's not possible in Odyssey now though, and won't be possible in Horizons post-changes. It does mean accepting it's currently broken though, hence the point of the OP and lots of others here in this very thread.
It's not broken... it just doesn't suit your style of play. Not broken does not mean their are no issues.

Perhaps it demonstrates how little you know about other styles of play that you think it would all be okay if we just went back to Horizons.

They promised Space Legs, they promised more realistic terrain, better biology and better geological features, they promised planets with different biomes, nowhere in all of this is the promise to make it all hoonable. You are not wrong in saying it does not suit your style. Your style of play is not the be all and end all of Elite Dangerous. Just because you make a lot of noise does not mean you are somehow right in your assertion that it is all completely broken and needs to be fixed so you can hoon.

'Our research told us that 84% of our people want X' is no grounds for doing anything! FDev is fulfilling promises in EDO and you don't like it. You make noise. I'm not going to go politely "there, there, it's okay... let's play along with the shouty people."

It's not broken. Saying it all the more in your head (and on the forums,) it's not going to make it real. The tree that does not bend with the wind will eventually break.

And still the planet tech is broken partly, they acknowledged that on stream.

Yes, I start sounding like a broken record - just like the whole forum for the last weeks... 🤷‍♀️

It's broken for this style of play. Completely.

Perhaps it demonstrates how little you know about other styles of play that you think it would all be okay if we just went back to Horizons.
Maybe you missed the topic of this thread. You should go check. Nobody ever said what you just made up.

Yes, yes, yes, yes. All completely off topic. Nowhere did they promise to break it either, or give a suggestion they'd be removing it.

You are not wrong in saying it does not suit your style
I never said that. What?

Your style of play is not the be all and end all of Elite Dangerous
I never said it was....what?

Just because you make a lot of noise does not mean you are somehow right in your assertion that it is all completely broken and needs to be fixed so you can hoon
What? Who said it was all completely broken? You appear to be making yet more things up.

I'm sensing a trend here....what? Nobody except you keeps spitting feathers and venom about promises. You're doing most of the shouty here, I feel.

It's not broken. Saying it all the more in your head (and on the forums,) it's not going to make it real. The tree that does not bend with the wind will eventually break
It's broken for supporting extreme flying. Your obsession with promises and trees doesn't change that, and you've no idea anyway what broken or fixed would even look like in that context.

Here's an idea - go for a nice walk and take a screenshot :)

Because you asked nicely. :)

And yes, you did say some of these things, and they have been said elsewhere by hoonkind, but hey, each to their own world. Still not broken 🤪

I'd been hoping for at least some indication of insight that the terrain wasn't completely broken at supporting extreme flying. Something to at least reflect the vaguest understanding of the thread's topic and discussion.

Choice of screenshot says it all. Not surprised.

Oh - you didn't ask the right question? I'm not a hooner. I've been told, rather unkindly, that many a time. I am proud to have not had a rebuy on this cow since she was commissioned.

No, I've not seen anything remotely close to anything that's been described by your colleagues out there, because let's face it... oh forget it. CMDR, you've been down that road, you know where it leads.

Even if I did find something close to what you want - it simply would not be what Horizons is now - and it'd be far too distant for you to live with because your home is Rebuy City!
