PLEASE eliminate white noise/static when engines are running! :(

Dear Devs,

I have a nice audio setup, with 7.1 surround, so I can really hear all the effects. It's great. However, I cannot stand to even fly in a straight line because moving forward (ie: after reaching the speed I set throttle at) I hear a constant staticy / white noise background disturbance. I've tested this with 3 different headsets on 2 different computers in Stereo, 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound, and it never goes away. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE eliminate this unnecessary background noise that sounds like something is wrong with your audio devices or at least give us the option to disable it, as you have so kindly done with so many sound effects/music already.

Thank you for the wonderful game, just please PLEASE give me a bit of your time in fixing this because as it is now I can't play the game. I'm sorry if that sounds melodramatic, it's just the truth.

Thanks for all your hard work.

Regards,

Luxangel7

I read in another thread that if your audio card/setup is applying after-effects to the sound it can muck it up a bit, you may need to check your settings.

I tested this with headphones connected to my sound card and others that connect to my PC via USB, using my onboard audio.

Standard Sidewinder

Nope, no built in static with the sidewinder. If you ever get the hauler the engines on that whisper and sigh at you. It can be quite spooky when you are playing in a dark room, at night... all alone...................... and then the cat jumps on your knee. But the sidewinder? Nope, no static.

Yep, clear sound here as well. Say what you will about this game, but the sound, the sound in this game is by far the best done in a game ever. EVER.

I hear it when dropping out of SC or going into SC/Warp.

And maybe when in stations... Ill have to pay closer atention, but i have music going at the same time.

I do know audio static can be caused by the PC itself (more specifically windows) and the simplest solution is just a full power down and reboot.

If that doesnt work check your audio settings as well as anything that could be causing latency... Such as multiple devices plugged into one USB port. (assuming usb headphones or DAC)

What static...? Something or other at your end's about to fry, me thinks.

When I was playing before launch I never had this issue. Only since launch have I experienced this problem. I have not changed anything to my computer set up since then, not even installed anything new apart from some games and a benchmarking program.

Maybe you're about to get lynched by Thargoids. That's not static, that's an encoded message.

Run away!

There's noise when you're running. If you turn flight assist off and drift it's noticably quieter (the sight of a station silently drifting past is majestic too) but nothing I'd call static.

I am using Creative 5.1 and also no static here.
Even that i am using the onboard audio (poor W7 does not have drivers for my Creative Live! card :() which is not very good and need a software to make it 5.1.
