Please fix the Corsair

Here's something I've hastily marked up from a mod recommendation I found on Reddit. The magenta line would be my preferred way to remove the nose, with the green being how to relocate the vent.

I want to give credit to the person who first posted this in Reddit, but I can't pull it up or I'll risk losing this post.

Their modification is already an improvement.

The only thing that I found abhorrent with the design is that the curves along the sides aren't even, giving an awkward and unrefined look -- which doesn't seem very Gutamaya

Hi :)
The... Schnoz on the Corsair is intolerable. Every other part of the ship is lovely. If the nose angle was reduced/flattened, or if the bottom of the nose rose up, or if it was shaped more like the Mandalay or iCourier, this ship could be an instant purchase on release day.

I bought both the Mandalay and the Cobra Mk V as a way to say thank you for good designs. I really want to be able to buy this one too, but that sniffer is so ugly it causes me disgust and even anger. Anger that if you simply had the nose of the courier it would be an instant purchase.

Again, the rest of the ship is gorgeous, but that one glaring flaw makes it turn hard into the ugly Olympics competitors.

I must truthfully admit the nose and cockpit design is for me personally not very aesthetic, but as the saying goes 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder'. I'm not sure if peoples comments (pre-release) have any input with how the ship design is finally finished / arrived at anyway.
The other important point I think is how useful is the Corsair going to be in the game. That might sway people to overlook it's present design and adopt it for use in specific roles.
Ship design, It's interesting, Take the Panther, it's perceived design in 'leaked' artwork ranges from a large but slightly rounded shape to what's been described as a 'brick'.
A brick doesn't strike me in the sense as something aesthetic, but people are still crying out for it!
A thousand or more cargo capacity would go down well though with some commanders in Colonisation at the moment I reckon. ;)

Jack :)

That would make it look related to the Mandalay.

I think it's an imperfection on purpose.

That's just an Imperial Courier.

I think they just like to add small imperfections, to give every ship a very distinct characteristic.

I for my part got sick of the 2 blinding spotlights inside the cockpit of my Krait. First they only disturbed me a little when a system was particular dark, but after weeks exploring the void I started to despise them so much. I can never sit in that cockpit again.

I like the Phantom's cockpit much better 👍

I remember people resetting their field of view so that the interrogation lamps in the AspX wouldn't bother them so much.

What is the big vent on the beak for? Where does it lead to, and what is its function?

If it is for rapid fuel scooping the hot gasses travel though the ship body to wherever they get stored? And is there a similar sized output vent to eject the undesired stuff?

I don't think it's the nose that makes it ugly. It's the placement of the cockpit/canopy (which is not only ugly but also impractical).

I recently made and posted this picture in another thread, as a suggestion of how it could be improved. Might just as well post it here:
