PLEASE give us more freedom with tracked water rides: A visual guide.

Was the water in log flumes, rapids, etc. actually better in RCT3? I haven't played it in several years but recently bought the Complete Edition. I remember that the large rapids that you got in the Wild! pack had actual rock texture for the sides rather than just metal, and the waterfalls interacted with riders on the rafts. Was there better water physics in RCT3 over the Planet Coaster games? It seemed that they took a step backwards with water rides with PC1 over RCT3 and 2 the water rides in 2 don't seem any better with the water but the pools and slides look good, the water looks good and guests can interact with it, and the water that you make lakes with, etc. seems like the same better water from the swimming pools.

i really hope frontier takes a look into this. we need to keep this thread top of forum maybe then we get some kind of reply regarding this issue :) i cant express how much i hope for this to change man

I wouldn't say they were better but I don't really think they were worse. There hasn't really been much development of the water ride systems from RCT1 to planet coaster. And I don't feel like I need much, just freedom in vertical shaping of the track into the splashdown troughs for the log flumes/watercoasters and perhaps some realistic looking rapid options on the rapids ride with maybe a round station thrown in. The soaked expansion of RCT3 even introduced a rapids ride where the boats had basic physics and would float about in the trough and bounce off walls etc.

Hopefully update 3 will realign the log flume boats - and then all the track issues mentioned above fixed - have just stopped using them due to the unrealistic nature of the drops, drop entries, limited splash down options etc . . . Please redesign them Frontier - the Splash Mountain logs are incredible - but the track just stops me from using them.

what i was thinking about the other day on this matter, i think frontier would need to give us completely new track pieces for those rides. if they change the existing drop piece that might cause issues with players that already used the current version no?
for example: ive already built a water coaster in my park using those premade drop pieces, if frontier removes or replaces those then basically the game wouldnt be able to load my ride as there is a piece built in that doesnt exist anymore. so frontier would be better off just giving us new drop pieces or let us build our drops by ouself into the water

I don't really know a lot about the limitations of the design, but if they could have both those fixed track pieces as well as shapeable drops/lifts, that'd be great! The turns themselves are shapeable!

Another bump to show that log flumes/water rides have a variety of drop profiles/steepness. Please give us this freedom! You’re doing a great job! 😁

was about to try one of the log flumes because it has a vertical lift. looking once at that lift i instantly ditched that idea

Yes - agree - this stops me too - if it were in the water and the boat just floats onto it - it would be so much more user friendly.

It literally does a wheely to get onto the lift at break neck speed - it's awfully frightful.

And then jettisons off the piece like a jet fighter going off - and cannot be slowed????

Whiplash anyone?

And the turntables are as bad as the lift (optically and physically)...

This lift is forcing the ride to close because if a boat reaches the lift before it's back, the boat will crash and disappear.
You have to set a minimum station hold time to avoid this issue...

Water rides really need a big overhaul!

yeah ive noticed that too yesterday. Its just so funny cause for some these might be jusr small issues. For me its very clear that these are indicators for a serious lack of quality control and basically peoves that no one at frontier played their own game. They may have played it casualy plopping some blueprints down and be done with it, but other than that i dont believe anyone at frontier has ever played the game any more deep than just casually

Yes, and because of this missing quality control I think the water rides are a bigger issue to me than the bad ui... The third of my most important things is the missing sense for what PC1 is known for... Enjoying a well made game
