Please help, I can't get cleanliness up :(

So, i'm a new player, started today. I'm in the second tutorial where i'm on Madagascar. Everything was going fine up until the point of the gold objective, "increase the average habitat species overall welfare to 90". I'm stuck at 87.

I keep getting the message that the Habitat Cleanliness in the Red Ruffed Lemur exhibit, build by the developers themselves, "is a disease risk". The cleanliness is at 49 when I check the animals, and I see a lot of poo in the water. Sending Zoo keepers there doesn't change a thing however. And when I click the message, it opens the water view and goes to a purifier. The view says everything is well and in order. I still build another purifier, as i suspected the view was bugged. It has its area covering the pool of water and is up and running. But alas, the cleanliness didn't even go up one point.

The Cleanliness stays at a mere 49 with that message constantly up at the left. Whatever I try, I can't seem to do anything about it. And it's weird, you would think the developers of Frontier created an exhibit that worked, and not breaks over time. I haven't touched the exhibit since the start of the mission so that can't be it.

Please, how am I supposed to get rid of the message? I can't seem to get rid of the poo in the water, thus the message stays there forever. I'm in the second tutorial, at a point were most people won't know how such things work (including me). There's been no tutorial whatsoever about water cleanliness so far, so how am I supposed to guess how to fix such a thing? I've googled for the problem, not much came up. It's burning me out at the moment, and I don't feel like continuing. Really feels like being thrown into the deep end :(

I had the same problem in scenario 3; I honestly don't know how I fixed it (I sent the keepers in and requested a mechanic to the water treatment facility even though it was working correctly, and the problem eventually went away).
Since neither of those seem to work for you, you could try removing the water (right click on the water, you may need to have the terrain/water panel open when you do so) and then calling the keeper in to clean. You can add the water back when they're done (just make sure the lemurs have a water source in the meantime).

I had this issue as well and it wasn't related to the water at all. The big climbing enrichment toy was too low to the ground and the workers couldn't get under it to clean up all the poop. One more thing to check in case the water isn't the problem.

I have had this on two of the career levels so far, because the water was in place I cannot remove it. On one I had to create a new enclosure and move the animals and on the the other it added more of a challenge as every year there would be a bout of illness in a few enclosures.

In the terrain tab, there is a "remove water" button.

We had the same problem and ended up removing the water, looking under short enrichment toys and all the other proposed solutions. Turns out our Japanese Macaque's poop had been dropping through and getting stuck under the concrete on the metal basic shelter. So be sure to move around any decorations with large bases and check underneath. Cheers

I can remove it in Sandbox and Franchise but Career isn't letting me do it either with selecting water and right clicking or using the "Remove Water" option.

In career some things are locked down on certain scenarios like the ability to remove pre-set water and using the terrain tool, this seems to be different on each level though and not throughout.

I bet this is what's happening in my peafowl exhibit. I have a keeper whose only job is to clean that one enclosure but they're still all coming down with diseases all the time and it's giving me warnings. I have no water in the enclosure, but I do have a pre-built shelter that has a solid floor -- I'll move it out of the way and see if it fixes things.

Edit: This is exactly what it was. Thank you for the heads up!

I had the same problem with scenario 3. The problem was not in the water though, the problem is in the shelter. The keeper can’t get inside the shelter to clean up the poo in there. First I tried to create a door for the keeper to get inside, but that didn’t work. Then I tried to remove the whole thing altogether, and it solved the problem. I called in the keeper, and the cleanliness went up to 100%.

Yeah had exact same thing

I was about to say that the water might be the cause of it as well. I removed all the water from the enclosures (sorry tigers) because they kept drinking the dirty swimming water, even though there was clean drinking water available.
