Please help me with my setup ( Odyssey plus + RTX 2080TI)

My setup is a i7 7700K @4.8ghz 16GB DDR4 3ghz RAM, RTX 2080TI
My HMD is the Samsung Odyssey plus

I haven't touch the settings yet, and out of the box the performance is pretty horrible with this headset. Jidder and stuttering all the time. The FPS jumps around from 60 to 90 FPS which causes this.

So please give me every tips tricks, and settings I need to adjust here to get the silky smooth experience this headset deserve ? With my old Oculus if just had to put the headset on and put SS to 1.5 and I was good to go with a 1080ti. Dont tell me this GPU can't handle this headset with smooth performance ?

First off, the O+ is a higher res headset compared to the Rift so you'll need to adjust your settings as any res multipliers will now be working over time. Check SteamVR and make sure it's SS match your Headsets per eye resolution or set it to 100%, next try setting your in game SS and HMD settings back to 1.0. If you get better performance you can start to tweak things from there. If not you may need to lower some of the intensive settings like shadows etc.

Sure I now, but there is endless thing to tweak, including in game settings, steam settings, Nvidia settings, WMR settings, motion smoothing etc.

And people are reporting smooth gameplay and high settings with similar setup so any tips would save me from a lot of

only in game settings that actually affect performance are SS, HMD quality and anti-aliasing. All other settings on Ultra/High lower your fps by 10 tops. So first you need to make sure no SS is enabled in SteamVR (set it to 100% in both Application and Video). Then change 3d settings in nvidia control panel to "let application decide". Then run game, choose return to surface (while at station) and checkout your fps. You should have solid 90 fps. Then start increasing SteamVR ss (you need to restart ED every time you change ss).

So Steam VR SS is better than HMD Quality and SS in game ? And do I increase video or application SS ?

SteamVR SS is resolution which is reported to game engine. HMD quality is same as SteamVR SS for Oculus Rift. In-game super-sampling renders image at higher resolution then shrinks it back to original resolution. In-game SS is using nvidia algorithm which is geared toward monitors. SteamVR SS is created specifically for VR and should work better.

I have the Odyssey plus with a GTX 1080 ti. He shouldn't need to do anything for a very smooth 90fps with his setup. I never notice any stutter or frame rates under 90Hz. I am running a 7900x 10 core at 5ghz but my Odyssey plus is pretty smooth even in my I7-2600K system. You should try other USB 3.0 ports and see if it's causing the stutter also mine was running perfectly out of the box but I found and created two problems . I installed a multi USB 3.0 front panel that for some reason caused lag/shudder problems with the Odyssey plus. I pulled it out and everything cleared up. Also make sure USB-3.0 legacy support is disabled in the motherboard BIOS as it killed frame rates. When I set the bios to default everything was silky smooth again. Then I set the CPU and RAM to proper overclock speeds.
