[haha][haha] All construction projects should be fenced off accordingly.
Now all we need is a proper fence tool [up]
I guess it couldn't hurt to have a checkbox somewhere that enables/disables coaster crashes
It could! People here are obssesed with checkboxes. I cannot imagine how would it look like if Frontier would have listened and added checkbox for almost everything... I think people should stop with this. Some things won´t just work and checkbox is not solution. We should accept that compromises have to be made for this game (and for any other game). Nor I think opening hours will ever work with the game like this as long as we want it to be actually fun to play.
Checkboxes is not a solution to make everyone happy with the game.
Either way, people are asking for the functionality to change... the result doesn't have to be a checkbox. We are already compromising and we will continue to compromise as long as we play the game, but you're essentially asking people to stop asking for stuff to change. Frontier wants/needs the feedback and they will decide for themselves what to do with their game.
I´m not saying nothing should be changed. I´m also for a ghost train instead of real train, but I definitely don´t want another checkbox....
I think it's more that we are at 50 checkboxes. I however could see the reason for a good 10 checkboxes for things that I would like to see as options.
However I do feel that the ghost train version of it just restarting when it gets to end of the track in this case is the best option for me in honesty.
I totally agree with this. I actually really liked the ghost trains and whilst peep bowling is a much-loved throw-back to RCT3 it adds nothing to the gameplay for me.
Everybody I know who builds coasters (including myself and more popular/well-known players like Silvarett) test their coasters the whole time they are building them to ensure that coasters are paced properly and are pulling the right kind of g-forces which is really hard to do unless you're running them the whole time.
Please bring back ghost trains in test mode or at least have it as an option because I actually really liked that feature, to be honest.
Also to everyone saying that we shouldn't test coasters around guests. Try building a compact coaster like say the Smiler with or without scenery/sub-terrain track and place it in the middle of a busy park and still make it fit without colliding with anything.
I guess every decision Frontier has made, has been the wrong one. [redface]
Or test coasters away from guests? It's hardly difficult to pick up a coaster and place it somewhere else..
Or not have paths that don't connect to the rest of things?
I guess every decision Frontier has made, has been the wrong one. [redface]
Excuse me? It is next to IMPOSSIBLE to pick up a coaster and place it somewhere else most of the time, especially if it's being built into scenery or terrain. I should not have to move my coaster to a blank spot of the park to build it, and then move it over to where I want it, to avoid the cars crashing into people when I test it as I go along. The accomodations some of you guys are willingt o make to sidle through the constraints of bad game design are astonishing.
Sorry but I still don't understand why we should have to close the park or remove loads of path as we build. For a start you would have to remove almost all the park paths to do so because as you build and you decide to place the coaster across your main street you want to delete it?
That is absurd to be honest. Clearly coasters are modelled with ghost cars on a computer and then maybe a scale model built depending with 3D printing. We cannot do that so when we build in our park and test it should feel like we are designing with a computer program with a ghost car that repeats when it gets to the end.
It was best like this during the Alpha before they put the crashing in. There is nothing that adds to it as I am not careless but forced to model my coaster as whole before testing basically and then having to test it.
That is not how things work. They don't test coasters with real cars in real parks and so why have it here. To me this is also bad design from Frontier to add something that I cannot control or want when I am forced to deal with something that would never happen.
You're not being forced to do anything! Aside from maybe pay attention. How hyperbolic.
