Powerplay Please Please with a cherry on top introduce the collapse mechanism

The Kumo know what it is like to be ganged up upon.....

We have a valid reason for attacking ALD this cycle - in response to sticking your nose in at our expansions at HIP and Morronii last cycle.......

You sure do. No argument there. Solid reasons to attack exist (be they revenge or just strategy), without question.

No matter.

We endure.

Wanna include about how FD jumped to discuss changes related to sniping just as when ALD was the victim of such a practice in that list?

Thankfully the community persuaded them otherwise.

First let me apologize, I might have come on stronger than I wanted, but the favouratism/bias accusations get me worked up.

I wasn't there when the sniping discussion happened, so I can only analyze your comment.
FDev didn't intervene, they started a discussion about a PP development which they thought unwanted.
Players said they liked it so they left it. Nothing happened.
How is that bias?

But assuming it is bias, then how about the Federation having only 2 powers instead of 4, like the Empire.
Or how new players all start in the Federation, instead of randomly determined.
Does that prove Federal bias?

As a dungeon master I can attest to being biased to telling a good story. If I got to cheat or change certain things to make the story I tell more enjoyable for the players, then I will.
So if you really want to call FDev pulling favourites or biased, then call them biased to making a good gaming experience for all.

I think it is just an attempt at PsyOps... the worst. attempt. ever. mind you.

yes it is. :)

It's sometimes frustrating. PowerPlay is a layer of a sandbox game, that is all about groups vs groups. But since there is little interaction with the enemy groups in the game, it is mainly reduced to numbers. Numbers of players, numbers of hours, numbers on a sheet, numbers... this is the opposite of interaction with others. So I guess each of us regulates his/her frustration on the forums, one way or another...

It is pretty sad.

When I started in October, we had PvP wings that escorted our underminers/CZ combat wings to ensure they were not disrupted or destroyed. Wings flew back together for safety and not lose precious merits to being jumped by a PvPer.

Now?

We keep a ship or two in the sky, but last week we spent 3 hrs in open, not a single Kumo ship sighted.

The rare times we run across anyone, anywhere outside of Kumo space, the ship immediately drops to normal space, and is never seen again.

Heck, our system has been undermined every week for 3 weeks, we have sighted only one or two ships in all that time, and we have pilots in there almost 24hrs a day.

If they did show up in open, we would greet them warmly... very warmly.

yes the open/solo/pg/multiple platforms is a decision, that has been already made. The thing is that PowerPlay like any other social game, monopoly, poker whatever has a cooperative side and a competitive side. But it "feels" like the rules of the game can be broken or bypassed because of solo/open. I think and would hope that the people in charge will tweak PowerPlay so that the social aspect of the game would come first and the numbers second.
