Title pretty much explains it, i bought oddessy yesterday, played for like 3 hours getting 1.2 million creds after 2 megaship missions, it's currently 5:45 am EST I open my launcher through epic games
(got the game during the free promotion), and bam, I'm hit with this:

Seeing that, i'm like 'alright, i'll just log in.' so i put in my login credentials, go to my email, copy the verification code, and then this pops up:

Was really looking forward to cruising through the stars this morning, so this just sucks. However, i didnt give up just yet, i go to my frontier account, make sure it's linked to my epic games account, and after all that i try again... and what do you know, it still doesnt work.
I have never played on anything outside of PC, so that isnt the issue... so now i'm stumped.

If anyone could help, please please let me know what i need to do. I was playing ED: Oddessy just yesterday, so something happened in between then and today.

This has happened to me and was solved by log out of Epic completely and redo both login process. I did raise a support ticket to Frontier and response was fast & efficient here:

Frontier did say at the time "We were aware of some issues with our Connection to the Epic servers yesterday, but these should now be resolved.".

That would seem to imply this all was your fault. I can assure you it was not. The launcher is very slow and outdated. The method they use to link to your Frontier account is poorly explained. All of this needs to be updated, but it will never happen.

I've just returned to ED after almost two years away. My primary commander is on an account using a purchase directly from Frontier. In order to get used to ED again, I thought I'd just install my unused Steam account, then link it to a new Frontier account. I got the same warnings you did, because Frontier never actually unlinked my Steam account when requested. It took quite a bit of time to finally figure out what I had to do to get it working.

I bought this game direct from fd whilst it was in beta 2014 and have never had a single loggin error apart from when the servers are down for everyone
and have never linked to steam even though I have it.
sure I had orange sidewinders blackadders etc at times but loggin problems nada (yes dl speeds are slow to atrocious courtesy of amazon rented servers )
it would seem I chose wiseley

I've never had login issues with the direct-from-FD install either. It's extremely slow, but very reliable. The Steam install launcher sometimes doesn't actually shut down when clicking the "X". If I place the PC into sleep mode with that launcher still active, I'll get a "Please Purchase" warning next time I try to play. I'll then have to close the launcher, verify it's closed, close Steam, then launch the game again.

When you look at the mess Steam creates when installing EDH, it's obvious this is Steam's fault. That's why I bought EDH from FD at full price. Steam prioritize tracking over stability. Epic likely has the same mentality.
