Please reconsider the armour boost to NPC war ships

This is causing two serious problems:
  1. Long, tedious dogfights in what are so close to being exciting battles.
  2. Ammo shortage. My ability to win a battle should be based on skill, not on how many materials I've gathered to synthesise more ammo.

It's not just the special ops and propaganda teams either. I just got into a dogfight with an Eagle in a medium zone that was taking about 2% damage from a good hit with two medium plasma accelerators. That was a very boring fight; easy but dull. Two good hits would destroy the typical pirate eagle of the same rank.

I use plasma slugs with these plasma accelerators giving me nearly double ammo capacity, but they still ran out long before the battle was over. That left me with little to do other than play kiss chase with the enemy fleet so that allied NPCs could finish the fight. I'd tipped the balance enough to win, but I'd say only about a third of my time in the battle was spent having fun.

I've mentioned before, that bullet sponge enemies are not that much fun to fight, they're not in anyway more difficult, just take longer to kill.

I'd suggest halving the NPC's hitpoints in favour of doubling the amount of NPC's there are (which effectively doubles their DPS). If the game can handle that.

Fighting multiple opponents is (for me) far more engaging and challenging than just fighting one very tough opponent.
Especially if those multiple opponents are using different loadouts. You need to identify and manage your highest threats.
