I have read many posts about how tiring this material grind can be. Debating jumping into engineers (been having fun w other games).
Please tell me that any Engineers upgrade, once unlocked, I can apply to ANY SHIP I own?
Depends what you mean. You unlock the tiers, which will remain unlocked for any ship. But the mod itself is supposed to be a physical upgrade to that single unit you have upgraded. So these will not apply to all your ships, and you will have to grind out the materials for each upgrade for each ship you own. Good luck![]()
ok, this guy just confused me compared to the first 3 replies. Boooooo. So, once I unlock an upgrade I always "have it" but I have to grind the materials (which takes 4+ hours I am reading) per ship?
So 4 hours for FSD on my python, then another 4+ hours FSD on an ASP that I buy?
Dude.

So let's say you are doing a multicannon upgrade do you have to upgrade each cannon separately and grind away for each one or does that mod get applied to all your multicannons in one go?
Do we have to re-grind for upgrades when our ship is destroyed?

Yes, I'm afraid this is true. Each module (for each ship) needs a selection of materials to be modified. I have 4 ships I fly regularly (Asp, Clipper, Python and Cutter) so I will have to upgrade 4 FSD's, 4 Thrusters, 4 Power Plants, 4 Shields and so on and so on... In my opinion this makes sense, but as the current method for gathering materials is hopelessly grindy, a long with the fact that you can't store materials or modules in a star port it all becomes rather painful!ok, this guy just confused me compared to the first 3 replies. Currently yes.So, if I understand this crafting correctly. I need to gather the crafting items required. Have met the engineer requirements for grade and item I want to make. AND be in the ship I want it applied to. Correct?
So, I will have to fit a cargo hold to my Vulture at some point if a commodity is needed correct?
