Plotting your own route

Hi.
I thought it would be nice to be able to plot your own route.
At the moment the computer plots it for you, according to your settings. But what if you want to explore a series of systems you chose. An alternative route.
I realized that yesterday when we started a convoy and had certain systems mapped out.

Been requested many times.

But at least we -can- plot routes now (for a while that wasn't a thing) to 10,000LY (for a long while it was restricted to 100LY or 1000LY, I can't remember), as well as being able to bookmark systems (we used to have to park Sidewinders in systems we found interesting, of course, that only worked in the Bubble).

So yeah, not a new idea, but certainly one which will always get a +1 from me.

I think in Alpha and Beta it was 100 LY and when the game was released it was 1000 LY.

Yes. And the ability to share it with a selected group. As I said, it came up, when we started a convoy with freighters and escort ships.
It would be a great benefit to coordinate such things.
You cant even copy/paste out of the chat, which can be really tiresome, if the system has a lot of digits you want to enter in the galaxy map.

So far, the only way we came up with, are the bookmarks you can set via voice attack and the plugin for Elite.

Yeah it's always bothered me that we couldn't do this in game other than one at a time. In a game I used to play, Escape Velocity, you could shift-click the systems on the map to plan a route. It was really simple, and I don't really see why it wouldn't be just as simple for elite except for maybe some kind of fuel calculation being done ahead of time.
