You are correct to some extent, but your rant is largely missplaced, as your final statement is incorrect.
As I detailed, there are many costs that cannot be accounted for (listed many examples), but you can account for a lot of it by adding in your expenses that have not been related to ships our outfitting. For most this will not make that much of a difference, but depending on how much you've paid in bounties/fines and to crew members it could be quite a lot. These expenses can safely be added to income total.
If you want to see a rough breakdown of your income by source, you'll subtract the sum from all your income sources from your total calculated income.
The biggest missing piece is money lost when reselling ships & modules.
In order for it to be apples to apples for all of us, it needs to be net worth / hrs played. Then we can have some numbers to compare. It may be possible to parse through more data and come up with a more accurate number, but unless all of us do that, it's not going to be apples to apples and then the whole exercise is just posting a bunch of unrelated numbers.
