So I have to make at least 2 fire groups: Beams+Multi and Multi+Missiles (or other combination).

On bigger ships the issue is just well... bigger Not to mention extra scanners like KWS.

I would also like a 'disable' option for fire groups:

Off, 1, 2, 3, Disable

This would allow turrets to be switched off for certain fire groups, as they automatically fire without the need to assign them to a button.
 
I'd probably add that 'three or more' would be a greater requirement. Four would be ideal for me, beyond that you might as well allow keyboard binding to numbers for instance.

An nice alternative would be a 'fire shift button', so that you could in effect have four fire buttons from three buttons (e.g. fire 1 and 2, plus shift fire 1 and 2).
 
Who doesn't want an extra fire button?... Wait 2 people. What are the reasons for not giving the flexibility of more fire buttons? You do n't have to use them - I don't understand!
 
Btw how many fire buttons X52 has?
My mouse have 2 extra buttons, and I'd be happy to use them for at least things like scanning & etc.
 
I use an x52 pro and have assigned keypresses to it so i can activate chaff and shield cell usage seperately.

needs more options in game still, especially a disable option as Floode says

Because it will increase the complexity of setting up your fire groups.
 
Indeed, everything is in place to do it, no more complexity needed, at worst one extra click when setting up as mentioned. In fact I got excited when they changed it during beta from blue & orange dots to numbers that denote the fire button. I felt sure they would add more numbers. Here's hoping they will soon.
 
Yes! Please add a third fire button. In fact, make it so you can have as many as you want. I just want to be able to use my KWS and two different weapons at the same time without having to change fire groups.
 
Agreed OP, wholeheartedly agreed.
It's been bugging me too now for a while. Lets hope they sort this out +1 from me!
 
and a fourth please.

The problem is that the kill scanner cargo scanner and so forth using up buttons. It means you end up having to switch groups if you want to use the fire buttons for actual firing combinations. A third (and fourth!) fire button would help sort this. Joysticks aren't that unusual among players in this game and lots of those have more than two "fire" buttons.

But as I sayiIf you're adding a third then a fourth should be hardly any additional dev time on top and doesn't impede the game in anyway if people choose not to use it.

We absolutely need more fire buttons, at least three, but four would be fantastic! (also because of cockpit UI, two fire buttons on each HUD side).

Developers, pleease ;-)
