Positive OPEN or Player with Player experiences.

Wow, a wn starting a thread about being positive rather than scoffing at how the forum fits on their bingo card or talking about animals or the worst movie actors they know of. Truly impressed.

Wish i had a story to share, but i don't play in open. Still, wish you and everyone else the best time for when your mouse doesn't make it across to the solo option while choosing servers.
Thank you for your kind words, though, and I'm almost frightened to ask this, what is a 'wn'?

Pretty sure that was either a increased range or shielded FSD, so no spool up difference.
The difference is in submitting to the interdiction. At 1:50 you can see I reduce throttle to zero and can jump out nearly immediately.
Oh and never fight the interdiction like I did first, that can end badly.
I watched your video quite a few times to learn from it - it appeared to me that your FSD is faster, but it might just be the "submit" tactics used - I understand. Your computer voice is hilarious - so uninspired - maybe veritas is as well and I just don't recognize that anymore.

Btw what i do differently from you in the minigame - i tend to strife up and down over the target circle - it appeared to me to be quicker than just holding onto the target - what do you think about that?

Most recently, there's the time I went to unlock the Guardian FSD Booster. I completed one run of the site, found I didn't have enough Guardian bits and relogged. Upon logging back in, I found myself in an instance with an Anaconda and another DBX. We ended up combining firepower from our little SRVs to take down the Guardian bits. At the end, they got their data from the orb thing and I got the last few materials I needed.

More memorably, there was the time when I'd just finished the basic outfitting for the pirate Corvette I'd decided to buy. I took it out for a spin in my usual haunt and, while I was hunting for the next hauler full of LTDs, I saw a Chieftain or a Challenger, I forget which it was exactly. Having not had the opportunity to pirate another player for quite some time, largely due to not frequenting the popular spots but that's on me I guess, I immediately zeroed in on the unsuspecting pilot. It didn't even matter to me that the Alliance ships weren't your typical trading vessels, I just wanted an interaction. Cue the interdiction and, once we've both dropped into normal space, I notice that he's got less than half hull. It turns out that the other CMDR had been bounty hunting and was on his way back to port when I jumped him. Fortunately, he saw my demands to come to a stop and neither of us had to start shooting. I ran a manifest scan, he explained what he'd been doing and I expressed my (feigned) disgust at his lack of cargo. Since the Corvette had more outfitting space than my previous ship, I had been able to fit a repair limpet controller which I put to good use on the other CMDR's ship. The repairs finished and we parted ways. He seemed pretty relieved that I hadn't blown him up and hopefully the module repairs weren't too costly. (Why the heck can't I repair other people's modules with the limpets?)

Then there was the guy in a Cobra Mk3 that I interdicted during the free Epic giveaway. During the course of our negotiations, he let slip that I was the fourth person to interdict him that day and that the other three had sent him to the rebuy screen. I felt bad and let him go with full cargo. More recently, I like to interdict smaller player ships that I know or suspect are traders. The Type 6s are pretty obvious but occasionally I run into an Asp Explorer or a Cobra that turns out to be a bounty hunter. There's usually this awkward lull in the comms when I figure out they has no cargo and they explain that they're bounty hunting before I let them go. These days I usually let the traders go after exchanging dialogue if they aren't carrying anything really valuable since my usual haul from NPCs is way more lucrative. One guy in a Cobra told me he sank most of his savings into the ship and cargo back when I was still taking player cargo since I hadn't learnt the ropes yet about NPC piracy. I felt bad again, halved my initial demand and then let him bargain me down further. I ended up with five tons of titanium and I followed him in supercruise until I saw him reach the station to make sure nobody else got him since it was an Anarchy controlled system.

Basically, he can't spell...

In any case, piracy, I love being the subject of genuine piracy, mostly because I (try to) make it difficult for the evil pirate fiend, first by fighting the interdiction, then trying to either fight my way out of, or, run away from said situation. Anyways, I usually lose but usually get a good convo out of it, & next time, maybe I'll evade capture just that little bit longer...

Open silliness is what keeps me in Open, it may be rare but it’s great when it happens.
This.
In the game he's called Leo, the voice actor is Norman Lovett who played the ship's computer in Red Dwarf.
The computer in RD is called HOL, obviously for copyright reasons or something they couldnt call him that so yeah hes Leo....or as I think of him the Holographic Overlord Leo, acronym HOL for short :) Wrong universe I know but I love it, hes only happy when hes fuel scooping, for some reason he enjoys that, hes miserable again when its finished. Best voice ever.

Yeah and it only struck me recently, He's HOL and there is Dave, which in itself is a minor adjustment from HAL and Dave. Perhaps this was obvious to everyone else but I am a bit dim.

I use Leo on my mining vessels - his mellow nature fits the activity quite well I find (at the risk of putting me to sleep after an hour heh).

What I didn't know until yesterday was that Carina is Marina Sirtis, which surprised me - I suppose it's been almost 30 years now since TNG! It's the only COVAS I don't own because I wasn't a fan of it per se, but now knowing this.... might put it on the medium term shopping list.

now we need Paul Hogan - "a jump?- that is not a jump, this is a jump - 4 3 2 1 - engage"

or better "ye nah, mate, that's not a jump ...this is a jump - 4 3 2 1 - engage"

Salome' I met lots of friendly commanders. Many bounty hunting CGs. When multicrew first came out, met a lot of nice folks (until the ones that attacked friendlies and popped consumables showed up), Quite a few CZ CGs - sort of expect pvp there. Game has potential...

I had about five days of play under my belt and as we all know you are a greater danger to yourself in that time than any player can be to you. I played in open as I simply did not know about the risks, I hadn't played since the Amiga days of Frontier Elite.

A player dragged me out of supercruise and told me to hand over 5t of cargo. I had no idea how to, so much to learn in the early days. I explained my predicament and this guy actually talked me through the robbery and how to jettison the cargo. We had a good laugh about it and he told me 1 ton would do so I would know what to do for the future if I got stopped by a less honourable thief. We said our goodbyes and off I went with a smile.
