Possible CHEATER or NOT? I need a second opinion.

One of the Cmdr on the forums gave me some names to kill in Gliese 868, then off I went to look for them in which I found some members of BBFA, so I texted some of my friends for help, we had a wing of three of us looking for them (BBFA) but we couldn't find them. After a while of flying in supercruise Jacob Marshall and I came across a Cmdr flying a Vulture, I was out of ammo so did Jacob, so I had to leave the fight to rearm at the nearest station, and that is when he killed him, therefore, I took it personal and I went back for revenge. After reviewing the video that's when I realized he was using a shield hack, long story short, I almost drop his shields in about three minutes or so, he then disappeared for like few seconds, when he reappeared again and we went at it for at least seven minutes with just one ring left on his shield. Do you guys think he was using a shield hack? I couldn't drop his shield after he only had one ring left, I know the vulture shield are super tough but it looked very suspect to me. What are your thought please comment below? Should I report him to FD based on my evidence?:S

I don't think he is a cheater. He probably uses one small SCB to keep his shields up at that one ring.
Vultures have high shields but small internal space, so a huge shield gen wit ha small SCB (or two) can result in a long-lasting, never-ending shield pressure fire. Plus you use kinetic weapons only, whic hdecrease effectiveness against shields.

My opinion, might be wrong, tho.

I think you file a support ticket under the category exploit/cheating. Attach the video (or a link), and if possible, the time the battle took place. FD can then look at the data and determine whether the other commander was truly cheating.

Don't think I saw him use one shield cell bank, also seemed to glitch very strange as you say. Even after a ram his shields never changed a bit, I call cheat or a very strange networking issue !

If he was using a SCB wouldn't there be the SCB shield recharge animation on his shields?

Edit: 3:45-3:50, shots actually penetrate the shield (red hits instead of blue) but it still doesn't go down. Then his vulture is rammed by a fer de lance with no damage to him.

Not if the SCB is a small one, say only fills a single ring, then the difference between faded and full ring can be hard to see, and given this is a kinetic weapon hitting the shields (a tactic I still don't understand but that aside) kinetics take down shield slowly so difference can easily be hard to see.

taking into account how fast he took his shields down to 1 ring in the first place he is a cheat.
there was Zero variation on the shield ring after he came back from his disappearing act.
you have 3 shield rings each ring being 1/3 off full power. it is not like the last 1 ring represents 60% of his shield strength

I'm not sure what graphical settings you're using but for me when someone uses a SCB, even a small one, there's like a blue wave going from the back of the ship to the front when the SCB triggers.

It is quite common that "pvp pilots" use this and other cheats. I have also encountered CMDRs with the same cheat in Gliese 868 and the other day I met at least one in LHS 142. This makes pvp really boring..

It'd be nice if there was some way to whitelist pvp pilots, make sure they're not running cheat engine and the WatchDog process is still running.

After trying to kill pirates repeatedly where they'd ignore 3 beams from a python for minutes at a time, I've given up on finding legitimate fights.

My suggestion? Whenever a CMDR shoots down an other CMDR the game (server) should perform an audit of the battle to make sure no cheats were involved. If they did cheat? Ban that player from ever playing online again.

The rule exists to prevent public 'tar and feathering' of commanders based on the Court of Public Opinion.
Report specific incidents and let FD handle it. Have discussion here about whatever so long as individuals are not hauled into the spotlight (perhaps erroneously) to make a point.

Nobody is naming and shaming a PERSON as far as I can tell. The poster is only mentioning another in game character or 'commander name' and therefor cannot be
accused of ridiculing or accusing them of something because the potential culprit has not had their real identity publicly mentioned.

I don't think the original poster did anything wrong. In fact I am glad that he posted it because the video shows that cheating is clearly going on.
