Possible Cheating/hacking of the BV Phoenicis CG(DEVS TAKE NOTE)

It certainly hurts the game. This particular CG, unlike some others, has a separate top prize for the single highest contributor. If people know that the top spot will inevitably go to a cheater, they'll be discouraged from competing for that top score themselves.

Aren't there many people with multiple hundreds of millions of credits whom have legitimately earned their wealth? How can anyone can say "the top spot will inevitably go to a cheater" ​when it's easy enough to have a fat bank in this game. Granted I don't know much about the CG events so perhaps I'm not knowledgeable enough to comment on them.

I'm not condoning this but how exactly would this kill the game? There is no player economy to speak of in fact the game is devoid of all things that would typically be harmed in a traditional MMO from such an exploit.

Community goals. If 5% of the player base is cheating, then it's impossible to get to the top 5% of a CG without cheating.

How much you contribute to the CG isn't as important as how much you contribute compared to everyone else. So even if you contribute a huge deal to the CG, if some cheaters contribute 5X more than you just did, then it makes it harder for you to progress.

But CG's are dev moderated are they not? So if the 'winner' has obviously cheated FDev won't give them the prize surely?
