I'm such an idiot, the story of my life. I had tagged all the scoopable stars eons ago, in the galaxy map, but I had forgot to do one small thing, tick the box "
Apply Filter to Route" - (
Flickr static composite png screenshot).
So I took
the DBX out on a roughly 5,200-ly jaunt from Dinda to [
Jellyfish Sector FB-X c1-5] which just cleared the requirement, 5,077-ly, and then I self-destructed to the tune of a 497k buy-back from my roughly 849-Mil still left in the bank.. "
Small Change got rained on with his own 38" -
Tom Waits - YouTube.
I still had to do a little more work with Marco aka Polo Qwent. You need grade-3 access and maybe half-way to grade-4, and it seems like spamming level-1 upgrades doesn't work as well now. So I did a level-3 on the power plant for
my Dolphin, and then the invite email came in from the illustrious Prof Palin.. mind you, I've always had a thing about academics, present company excluded of course. [cool]
So now I'm going to work from the info in this post from July of this year,
Professor Palin - unknown fragments, claiming that there are Unknown Fragments at this crash site (HIP 17862 6 C A : 30.32 -98.58).
And on a closing side-note, we do have to give FDev credit where credit is due for making some of this stuff a lot more approachable for the casual player. First dropping the commodities, and then in particular, the recent addition of the ability to plot courses over 1,000-ly, making something like a 5,000-ly trek a lot easier.. assuming your Captain isn't an idiot who doesn't know how to plot for scoopable stars.
** Edited ** -- the outward bound leg in the DBX to [Jellyfish Sector FB-X c1-5] was 108-jumps and I flew that in two roughly 1-hr stints, over the course of the same evening. (I did not pack a lunch, this time..)
