Post Patch STOCK Mamba boosts to 387m/s | Frontier's Speed Demon Unleashed!

Yeah - my Corvette feels much more nimble. I guess I'll just have to adapt to its quirks/flight model - I just couldn't seem it stay on target.

its not really quirks or flight model as much as it is a bad combat ship.

Right now its outclassed in combat by several other medium combat and multipurpose ships.

They seem to want to keep this ship with bad agility, I don't know why. But if that is what they want, it needs to have better shields, hull and internals. Still may not be fun to fly but at least it will have a role and be somewhat balanced.

Well, I just tried it out a bit and I must say that pitch feels much better now, especially at 4-0-2... never expected it to rival ships like the Chieftain in terms of agility, but I think it's ok now.

And fun to fly... personally I find it VERY fun to fly. It's reasonably fast now, but... that acceleration... it's yaw-dropping. This ship truely feels like a cockpit and a few weapons attached to a monstrous engine... as it should be. It may not dethrone the FdL in PvP but I think it's a match for it.

P.S. The landing gear is still bugged

I don't think people will be satisfied until the Mamba is the fastest, strongest, and most agile ship in the game.

On a side note: small ships need a speed buff across the board.

Ship is a reasonable mix of Beta 3 and Beta 4/Live now, with better low pip maneuverability than either.

People that wanted it to decisively out-brawl the FDL, or keep up with EPT ships in a race are going to be disappointed, but they never had any chance of getting what they wanted because what they want is absurd.

Now i'm itching to try it out. I liked this ship quite a bit before the buff, so I'm thinking I'll love it now. I'm running 1 G5 huge efficient/vent beam and 4 g5 double shot SS frags. BOOM!

It definetely has its merits... post patch it's faster than the FdL by a reasonable amount, reasonably agile and most prominently... that monstrous non-boost acceleration. While that's not obviously advantageous in PvP, it certainly sets the ship apart from all other designs.

Always hated the FdL, and honestly didn't epext I could like the Mamba... but this thing is going to stay in my fleet :)

No, people just expect the 2nd most expensive medium ship not to be outclassed in multiple categorizes by cheaper medium combat and MP ships.

They want it to be good at something that isn't just running away.

Its a cool looking great sounding ship with a fresh design. People just want some relative balance.

Tested it this morning. Can get the stripped-down-build boost up to 640m/s. Combat fitted, I'm at about 636m/s, 634 w/Reactive Composite armor. I'd take it into a CZ except I keep dropping into empty ones. Thanks, Frontier!
