Post your weird planets!

In the spirit of Surly_Badger's Post your weird systems! thread, I think we need another one dedicated to weird planets too! Starting to see so many videos and images crop up of some really awesome stuff.

Also don't forget Dognosh's [LlST] HORIZONS' WONDERS thread, which is a bit like this one, but for actually charting the locations and statistics of specificly amazing finds on planets (like mountains etc)

I'll start with this video of Mitterand Hollow - the fast orbiting moon. Best footage is in Erimus' video we filmed last night:

Also look what Kerrash found:

The Gathering at Miterrand looks awesome!! Incredible!!

Would have love to join you guys! No beta here though! :-/

The release can't come fast enough!!!

+1 Rep

I found a rather amazing potato!

I was so excited that I didn't even take down its location :(

Just landed here last night. Exploring it when I get home today... The ground is all metallic and shiny blue-green/gray, kinda like a dull aquamarine.

Green, gorgeous!

Here's one similar to your crater within a crater, Kat:

Almost as if it received a highly concentrated bombardment in one spot. Either that or it has a verruca!

Awesome pic Doc...+1 rep (except I can't...got to spread it around apparently)

Thanks! Here's the view from the second planet back at the first:

And here's another planet, on Luhman 16, that has got to be the closest binary pair I know of:

The first image is in that huge FOV debug camera:

and the second is just a normal pic, intended to try to give you a feel of how huge that yellow planet really is in the sky:

3 moons orbiting each other, and orbiting a gas Giant.

Can't say where this is right now as I haven't cashed it in yet (its my secret for now)

Ah, yes, I noticed that these L-Type-systems sometimes have odd constellations.

This binary pair I have found 3 days ago. Hypuae Audst KJ-O d7-25, about 25K LYs from Sol.

I love finding impact sites that change the composition of the surface like this red dust planet hit by an ice asteroid:

Nothing too special but some of my favourite planets to find.

There was also what I dubbed Crater Canyon, nice and misty down there:
