Power Restore Missions after Update 5 not updating !!

Yes, I read the patch notes, and realized the number of missions was going to dwindle since I would often see 2-6 missions going to the same settlement, and the factions differed. But now there is nothing (in those systems). If it is working as intended, they may have overshot a bit...

there are only so many slots available on the mission boards, so those missions (from a single faction) are competing with everything else (from everyone else). I found one system with a lot of powered-down stations - from two factions in negative states - and only three of those settlements had restore missions when I checked the board. It's a pretty dramatic reduction.

In both my cases, it looks like the slack go dumped on combat missions. My boards would usually show approximately 30 combat, 17 transport, 9 Procure, 4-6 Operations, 5-9 salvage, and 30 restoration.

Now it seems to have dumped all the losses from restore into combat, as that is usually around 60-63 and the others are the same (and restore is greyed out).

Same here, and also contributed to some existing tracker ticket... but I noticed something else which I am not sure if for sure is: post U5 and really the thing

So before, because I suck at combat (especially on foot), I would first deploy in SRV, kill the scavengers or guards or whoever was standing in the way of my success. Then I'd disembark from SRV, finish mission objectives and go

Now, I realized actually few things:
  • when you deploy in SRV first the scavenger (to kill) counter does not show up in the right top corner as a mission objective
  • actually, I thought that this was the reason for mission objective progress/status disappearing but seems like those missions (especially with fires) are broken anyways and powering on the settlement does not trigger any progress anymore
  • the most important, now if I kill all the dudes using my SRV repeater, they'd respawn after I disembark LIKE I AM BEING FORCED TO FIGHT THEM ON FOOT!!!

I get it, people made too much fun about approaching settlement with your ship and essentially getting rid of all the resistance with bombs... somebody decided to fix it?
Come on... it is a strategy, not an exploit

Agreed. Further, the risk/reward is already baked in. You don't advance your Mercenary rank unless you kill them on foot (SRV/Ship kills don't count). Also, you will only get the base kill bounty amount. If you scan the bodies later, no additional bounty money is offered. On foot, I often get between 5k and 30k per bad guy on top of the initial kill amount.

Perhaps it's working as intended; however, I don't understand why there's loads of missions to get rid of scavengers from a settlement, but nobody wants to bring them back online!

Side note - when I did find two missions (both of which required fires to be put out), neither would complete. After that I gave up. It's a shame because I get the impression that power restore missions are generally popular among many players.

One gave the "Beware there will be scavengers waiting for you" message before arriving, however that didn't even trigger the count e.g. 0/10 when I got there.

If you’re seeing “Go kill scavengers at this settlement in this system”, it’s likely that you’ll find a reactivation mission from the owner of the scav-infested settlement. I did some roving repairman work last night in that way.

It looks like Fdev retracted all the Restore missions. I've looked through like 10 stations and settlements, but can't find any mission boards with any mission in the 'Support' category.

I wish they would tell us that they're doing that, so someone like me wouldn't go looking for it.

Easy, they don't want us taking lots of them on then quitting them just for the regulators. It's the ONLY possible reason. Have to keep the engagement metrics up.

Ok fine. Now I just take them out of every settlement I visit. Not even a fine that way. Bonus.

I'm not sure if it's fixed, but found some restore missions.
But none of the issues in the tracker related to this problem have any comment or change in status by the devs.

- Cannot complete support (Repair) missions with fires

- Restore Mission Cannot be Completed

- Restore missions still 'broken'

- Restore Missions to Neumann Extraction Prospect cant be completed

- Unable to complete mission Restore: Prepare Aniefuna's Reserver for Operation

- No mission progress indication on top right when on Restore Prepare missions

- Cannot complete "restore to operation" mission - entering/exiting SRV caused progress to disappear

- Support Missions Have been Culled

It turns out that it's not fixed. So I guess Fdev really didn't retract the missions, and as Retropolitan said, the lack of support missions seems to be due to the fix in Update 5.

Radio silence from FDev is ongoing ... where is the promised improvement in communication and transparency? What a mess!

Dont take any restore missions even if you see it. They cannot be completed and you get fined for abandoning them. Right now they only good for 'buying' a power regulator.

Even the salvage/larceny missions sometimes have bugs, the wreckage or irregular markers for the mission do not spawn.

This is one of the reasons why I've shelved the game until they present us with a functional product. Right now I'm sitting with an out of box failure with no warranty.

Sadly I found some yesterday and took two (for an anarchy faction). So I took a faction hit with them and got fines for the power regulators (one of which I left installed).

So tonight I'll take it out on them by raiding some of their other settlements and looting everything, including their power regulators. Got to offset those "unfair" fines.
