Power Signal Source overload?!

Is it just me who's finding the amount of Power SS's a bit overwhelming when you're looking for other SS's?

I mean, I guess it's great that they're there (haven't looked at PP2 yet) but it'd have been nice if FDev had, perhaps, put them on a different frequency, on the scanner, so I could search for non-PP2 SS's.

Or, perhaps, was this always going to be "the other shoe dropping" after the changes to engineering?
They made it so mat's are much more common but you're going to have to trawl through (literally, in some cases) hundreds of Power SS's to find HGEs?
 
Well this was bound to happen...
First there were loads of USS.. Now there are loads of PSS. Seems to me to total number of SS did not change much

Do use the nav beason if you need HGE (Not like you need more than 4 to fill up every year or so)

Not sure about that.
The systems I've been in still have regular USS's, such as weapons fire, convoy dispersal, combat aftermath etc (as well as HGEs, Encoded and Degraded) but they also have a metric poop-ton of Power SS's too.

If you're using the scanner to look for SS's it can be, literally, never-ending because they'll come and go quicker than you can identify them all.
If you scan the nav-buoy it gives you the information immediately but you've still got to scroll down a gigantic list of signals in your nav-HUD.

It would make things a lot easier if the nav-HUD had a filter for PP contacts and if PP signals were on a different scanner frequency.

Ships in those power wreckage signal sources are pure evil.
 
Cos I’m thick I saw all these new “power” thingies and thought they were something new and exciting! Then I realised my take on “power” (tritium, exploding fusion reactors, big sparking batteries) was a bit wrong and it’s just normal stuff but labelled for the new playground gang mechanic. ☹️
 
Not sure if it 100% accurate, but it seems the power wreckage signal sources without the a timer always spawn those ships. Stick to the ones with timers on them.
