Power/Water/etc radar - toggle when building?

How do I switch off the radar when i'm building with electricity/water? As soon as I move a generator or a filter, it switches on and I can't see the ground level or scenery properly.

Is there a basic guide for all this stuff? I can't find one anywhere.

Many thanks

In the UI below, the very first symbol at the left, the one that looks like a blue radar? Toggle that to enter and exit the heat maps. You can also use the hotkey H.

You can also press F1 to open the tutorials! There’s tons of them.

Thanks so much - it was 'H' I was after.

I appreciate the direction to F1 and the tutorials. However, they don't tell me what the controls do. They don't tell me how to group/ungroup objects, edit them, exit editing easily, why my 'Z' buttons spins an object irratically when I hold it down in order to use my mouse, rather than smoothly allowing me to move the object with my mouse. How to attach/place buildings on top of walkways, why the grid around objects don't seem to align to the pathway grid...there are lots of things it really doesn't explain. I don't know what the process is called half the time so don't know what I'm looking for.

I would just like a beginners tutorial of what everything does with regards to building.

Oh...well, can’t help with that. I come from Planet Coaster, so I was already accustomed to the mechanics. However, I can suggest:

• YouTube! There’s hundreds of PC tutorials, so I’m sure Planet Zoo is following lead. I’m sure there’s a beginning guide video somewhere already.
• In the forum there’s this super useful thread with hotkeys: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/helpful-key-bindings.528654/
• The three first scenarios of career mode are tutorials and, personally, I find they do a great job showing you how things work. Give them a try!

Good luck!
