I think the implication is that you get the bonus as a trade bond (as if you were winged with Mahon?), rather than it being added directly onto the sale price of the goods, which could cause some very strange side-effects. You shouldn't need to be in a wing to get it, and if you were in a wing you'd presumably also get the separate 5% trade bond for that.I tend to play on my own and never really wing up so I’m hoping I can get some confirmation one way or another on what I’ve read regarding trade bonds for Mahon.
Am I correct or incorrect in thinking Mahon’s 25% trade bond bonus (within his Power space) and 50% trade bonus for Rares only applies to trade made within a wing?
Thanks Ian. Since posting I’d managed to find out some more about trade bonds, never having taken a wing mission I’d no knowledge of them at all.I think the implication is that you get the bonus as a trade bond (as if you were winged with Mahon?), rather than it being added directly onto the sale price of the goods, which could cause some very strange side-effects. If you get 25% extra directly on the sale price, then that also affects things like the BGS effects on state and influence, how many merits you might get for a sale, possibly even whether or not the sale counts as "40% profit" for the merit award at all. So…still a little confused. What’s the difference between a bond and getting 25% extra selling a commodity?
The bond is a separate "thing" you claim from a menu, where 25% extra money slapped onto the commodity market transaction would itself apply to normal wing trade bonds to make a kind of stacking bonus situation. So…still a little confused.
