Powerplay Beta 1.3 live, lets test if it improves performance for VR!

Not one mention of VR ??? Not one! As much as I am looking forward to the update I can't help but feel a tad deflated by that.
no curved menu, no text alterations, no new SDK ... Ah well let's see if there are at least some performance improvements.
 
to expect the new SDK to be implemented was pushing it but there are quite a few graphical improvements to lighting so I'm hoping it at least runs better for me.

btw for anyone running 2 x 980s I have found that using DSR x 4 and low settings I get the best compromise
 
Why did anyone even expect the new SDK to be implemented now? It was released just 1.5 weeks ago. By that time they had probably already split the PowerPlay build from the main trunk and locked it down.

Because they are capable of such magical feats and we have unrealisticly high expectations because we are obsessive, irrational and generally addicted to VR? :p
 
is it just me or has the image quality in the rift taken a nose dive? Menus seem pix elated and graphic displays seem jaggy.

I tried with the in game SS but it seemed too graphically intensive and was giving me a lot of chromatic aberration issues

There's much to be optimized for VR without implementing the new SDK ya know. Aside from the SDK 0.6 sticky no VR related questions are being answered.

Anyway, my download just finished, later!

Took FD 3 days to add OR support (one guy) so, ya, we expected it.

Updates often revert the screen resolution for me. If you're using DSR, check you haven't gone back to 1980xwhatever, or reset your super-sampling etc..

..also, I noticed that some work has been done on station geometry culling, which is something that I was personally whining for- stations are the things which my system hates the most. There are some other things to do with shader caching and lighting cleanups which might benefit us disproportionately, too.

..but no, no 0.6 support. Yet.

Expecting 0.6 is unreasonable. Expecting 0.5 is not.

Orientation reset not working for me and neither it seems is the DSR... Graphics are awful! Did the Devs not even try this with a Rift? Is there a workaround?
