Powerplay crime and punishment

Hopefully, somebody already knows how it works with the new powerplay, cause I'm not exactly sure how its going to work.
Supposedly if you are pledged to a power and travel to another powers territory, even if the controlling faction isn't alligend to that superpower, you can be shot down without the other becoming wanted? Or how exactly does it work? Can I shoot down enemy agents without becoming wanted for assault?
If anyone knows the details of this, it would be appreciated

They've restricted this kind of gameplay to stronghold systems only, but here goes;-

1. If you're in enemy (stronghold) territory, then Powerplay Police (PPP) will attack you if they scan and detect you're from another power.
2. If you're attacked by the PPP in their territory, if you fight back and the ships are clean, then you will get a bounty.
3. Any opposing power ships in your power's territory is fair game and you don't get fine'd or bountied if you take them out.
4. If you come across enemy powers in an neutral and uncontested system, then usual Crime and Punishment rules apply. I.e. a Bounty if you attack, but they become wanted if they fire first.
5. If the system is Neutral and contested, then you are in open warfare and I don't think anyone's tested that one yet.

Hope that helps.

Nice summary!
I tried visiting both an allied and a hostile stronghold last night and was rather disappointed. The allied one ignored me till I docked, when the station said “nice to have an ally” or similar. The enemy stronghold was pretty slow to scan me even though I was cruising in and around the carriers at close quarters for a good 10 mins. When I eventually got scanned (because I let them), they opened fire but made no attempt to follow me and it was was easy to run away (in an adder). I also wasn’t interdicted at any time.

That's a shame, I hoped the PPP would be more aggressive in stronghold systems. They did say in the live streams that they've dialed the AI back for the start of powerplay and going to ramp it up as they get feedback, but we'll wait and see.

What about notoriety? Because becoming notorious from that, given it's current implementation, would be trash.

depends if you destroy the other ship. You got notoriety in the preview, but they might have changed that for release.

We need to Science the :poop: out of this system to work it out!

Yeah, maybe the aggression scales up according to your current merits status …
I’m not even sure what the scenario was that delayed the release but I’ll now be trying to destroy at least one ship at an enemy stronghold with an adder 😜

It was because there were complaints from people that the PPP were too aggressive. I think they were trying to find a balance so that the people could get involved with other gameplay and social events (CGs, Meetups, attacking titans, etc) around the galaxy and not be restricted to their single Powerplay Bubble.

I would have preferred a suspend powerplay option, so people could do those activities and then once back again, resume their pledge and have the NPCs just as aggressive as they were. Guess we'll see how it goes.

Right now the C+P of both PP2 and the BGS kind of is folded together- regular security gets upset if you blow up powerplay ships when classically they'd be 🤷‍♂️

I'd be cool with that if the merits reflected the massive bounties, notoriety and wanted status it brings.

I think it’s safe to assume that players won’t be organizing meetups at strongholds, and probably nowhere in a system with a stronghold. We’ll see how it goes I guess …

Unless capitals are less crazy strongholds, nothing scanned or even bothered to look at me when I went to Polevnic to check.

Whats needed is for (above a certain activity threshold) a tooled up spankinator NPC PPPPP (Power Play Player Punishment Police) that act like a bounty hunter and pursue.

This could then morph to wings, and engineering as escalation.

Local security won’t be following you out of their jurisdiction either, so a fast cold ship with LR weapons could probably pick them off one by one. Starts mulling over builds … maybe even the Mandalay 😜

I guess we’ll be finding out if they exist pretty soon, but I won’t be placing any bets
