Indeed, the manual implies that the first time an amount is carried over it will already be halved, when instead it is being carried over in full at this stage. In the cycle/carry over after that it will be halved. I missed the first week of PP and thus only have data starting from the 2nd cycle, but so far other than this discrepancy things seem to be working as expected. I'll be certain of it either way in another couple of cycles.
I'm not sure what Merits I had yesterday. But today (carried forwards) it says 1663. Now I'll swear I didn't have two and a half thousand odd yesterday such that it was 50%'d to then give me 1663.

I'm fairly sure I therefore had 1663 yesterday, and all of this has been reported as having been brought over?

But like you say, someone who knows specifically what they had yesterday needs to comment on how this relates to what they've had brought forward today.

like ive said, any merits you earned last week will have been brought across to this week at 100% their value. That is how it worked last week and today.
However, this is incorrect according to the Powerplay manual, which states that they should have decayed by 50% AFTER working out your new rating and BEFORE thay are brought over to the new cycle.

I'm pretty sure that the Systems visited counter increments in real time and does not require you to turn in data.

If you are only checking the counter when you dock expecting it to increase when you sell data, you may get the impression it's not working.

Monitor the counter each time you jump to a new system.

Do any of the Devs actually know how the merit decay is supposed to work?
3rd time merit decay has happened and they still cant get it to happen as the powerplay manual states it should.
Is the manual wrong? is the in game formulae still wrong?
why wont you confirm these things? it has been 3 weeks.

first week i had maybe 150 merits and it didnt change after update
second week i lost something like 200 merits from 1300 or 1500 i had
now i lost around 600 or 700 merits from 3700 i had......abit 200 more lost than i expected

Question: why do the Kumo Crew NPCs spawned (amongst all the others) to turn Cubeo into a living interdiction hell not have bounties? Aren't they supposed to be pirates?

Still no fix for buy multiple limpets with mouse.
Still no fix to why it says "wings" on the gal map under exploration data icon.
Still no fix the system map freezing on the data for a body.

Sigh

"- Add skill for major factions in modify reputation detail"
What does that even mean? Can somebody please explain?

Possibly that higher ranked players lose reputation more slowly? but as usual we're just left guessing until/unless we get actual confirmation using Layman's terms.

As it stands right now the counter is not going up, what some people out in the black (like me) want to know is if its just the counter currently glitching or does it now only update when you sell your data? So if someone inside civilised space can scan a couple of systems and see if the counter goes up after you sell the data and post results here it would be appreciated

SuperCruise Wake Scanning not fixed, tried with various Ratings of Wake Scanner. Impossible to go within the 3-4Km range while in Super Cruise. Still works in normal space though....

Yeah same here... returning from a 18KLY trip 3KLY out from my destination in civilized space. Counter is stuck on 1886 Systems Visited.
Parking the ship in a tight Stellar orbit to see if the computers of my Asp fix themselves in a few hours. Maybe give her a cold boot or something.

Now where did I leave that cannister of Lavian Brandy!

We want to know if cartographic data a still obtainable and available to sell.

Counter does not matter. But if exploration is broken i ll have to wait i don t want to waste time.

Thanks for the OS X fixes in this patch, particularly the longstanding one with the trackpad "scroll wheel" in the Galaxy map. I look forward to giving this a try tonight to see if I can finally use that map in a reasonable way again.

...it makes no sense...

So last night I had (I believe) 1663 Merits (a combination of merits over two weeks).

Today (a new PP cycle) sees me bringing across 1663 Merits...

If I do nothing this week, I'll end the week (again with 1663), and then what will I have this time next week? Surely it needs to be 50%'d at some point? It wasn't done last night to today (seemingly)... so why should it be done next week?

The only way it makes any sense is as you propose, where it IS 50%'d at the end of the week, and then brought forward. This then let's you instantly see how much you need to earn that coming week to hit/maintain any tier?

We need someone else to confirm what Merits they had last night, and what they've had brought across this morning? Because if it's the same, IMHO, it's busted!

It should state what Merits you ended last week with, and then 50% the values etc, and then tell you what you're bringing forwards for this week.

I'm just wondering if maybe I had more Merits than I thought and it has done what you suggest? eg: Maybe I have 500merits from the previous weeks, and say earned 1400 or so this week, so it 50%'d the 500, added the 1400 (from this week) unmolested, hence me bringing across 1663.

Next week the 1663 will be 50%'d and anything I earn this week will go across unmolested.

^^ Surely this has to be the case?

.

well I don't, I KNOW its working like I stated (my merits confirm it), what I do need confirmed however is which is correct, the way its happened the last 2 cycles, or the way the Powerplay manual states. And if the way it has been working is correct then why is it stated differently in the powerplay manual, and why hasn't the powerplay manual been updated to reflect this? Considering they havnt managed to get decay working properly once in 3 attemtps, my guess is that it is the formula that is broken, but they will keep it this way and (eventually) edit the powerplay manual, since that will be easiest and make it look like they havnt failed 3 times in trying to get this correct.
