Powerplay Weekly Assignment Bug?

Is anyone else having trouble completing weekly assignments this week? I have 2 assignments this week to:

1. Complete bounties in the Duamta system
2. Sell exploration data in the Duamta system

For the exploration data, I have gone about 500 Ly outside the bubble and turned in about 2 million in data but none of it counted for the assignment. For the bounties, I collected about the same amount (from bounties collected in Duamta) and I thought they would count as soon as the kill was completed, and then turned them at the station, but never got credit for the assignment.

You don't need to go that far. Just go to some ELW or two (that you haven't DSS-scanned before) that's at least 20 Ly from Duamta, DSS-scan them, and report at Duamta. Doesn't matter if they have already been scanned by someone else, you'll still get a million or so credit per ELW, which is more than enough for the assignment.

That being said, I don't know if any exploration data will suffice, or whether you need to turn in exploration data that actually counts for merits (which requirements are, AFAIK, still unclear). The ELW scans definitely will count towards merits, so they should work. And if they don't, then maybe there's a bug or weird delay or something.

The exploration merits seem to be calculated per system, with some threshold value, rather than just the total you hand in. So scanning an ELW in the Bubble counts for merits, scanning lots of systems with a couple of rocky worlds each may come to a decent credit grand total, but none of it counts for merits since each system's reward is low.

I think there's a thread somewhere dedicated to researching the triggers for exploration merits.

I’ve heard on here that it’s only data over a certain value that counts for merits.

The OP question is not about merits but about the weekly assignments, which in the case of exploration data only mention a certain amount of credits (not merits) to be earned by selling exploration data.

So one would think that any exploration data will be sufficient, but who knows.

It wouldn’t surprise me if, as it has to be a certain value to count towards merits, it needs to reach the same threshold to count towards the weeklies.

Yeah, I'd imagine the same.
And I believe the threshold is now considered to be a per-body threshold, of a little under 700k CR before it counts for merits.

Pledged to ALD. This week assignments include delivering biological samples to any vista genomic outlet in Hunapel. I delivered so far more than 70mil worth of biological samples to a vista genomic outlet in Hunapel (Russel Ring station), but the assignment is still active as not completed?!

Restarted the game and did the same run, but still not working.

Having the same issues. I have assignments to:
1. Hand in exploration to the correct system and it did not count (needed 200k - handed in 2m - nothing)
2. Black boxes & escape pods did not count handed in to the correct system either.

Seems bugged.

The biological samples assignment is indeed bugged. Don't waste your time on it until we get an update.

The biological sample weekly is indeed borked...tho not 100% of the time. I had a similar quest last week (the week before maybe) and it completed fine.
This week dropped 40mil at the requested system and nada, zilch, bupkis, nowt, sweet f***y adams...you get the idea
As zimms rightly says just ignore it, not worth wasting time on it...tho i still got the cash, and scanned plants I had not seen before so wasn't exactly wasted time I guess.

Broken also this week!! This does not make any sense!! Are we doing something wrong?!

It says deliver 301,364 credits worth of biological samples to reinforcement systems! I did! More than 40mil credits worth of samples and yes to reinforcement systems; yet none is counted?!

this is clearly a bug and anyone who comes up with a "workaround" is missing the point completely. if the mission says sell X amount of exploration data in Y system then that is it. no theories about what it COULD mean, either the text is wrong or the hand in is bugged. either way it needs fixed

I just completed this weekly task myself - "sell 401,615 credits worth of exploration data in..." - having not had one of them thus far in my PP2 career.

I deliberately collected data from a few systems to see how it would play out. As the guidance here on the forum had suggested, the game steadfastly refused to recognise any of the lowish-value (up to around 300k credits per body) exploration data I handed in as contributing in any way to the task. (The combined values greatly exceeded the task requirements.)
But once I handed in a system with a 1.9M cr mapped water world, bingo, task complete.

I think it's fair to call this a bug. The whole PP2 nerfing/rebalancing needs some clean-up, and it's extremely lame to have tasks with descriptions that don't correspond with the true requirements.

Huh? No idea what you've read into the posts above, but I don't see anyone defending the game's behaviour or saying it isn't a bug. I just see a few posts explaining how to work around the bug. To say that sharing a workaround is missing the point seems to me to be missing the point very badly indeed

i have given up with weekly assignments for the above reasons and more hardly works,spend my time indriticting enemy ships scannig ships and collecting data from base missions im now at lvl 87 n ot to hard and saves trying to complete tasks and getting nowhere
