Pre order DLC question

Correct the Deluxe Edition is not available on hard copy only digital download, Which to be honest is miles better as you don't have to worry about your disc drive mangling your discs. [haha]

Oh so true...and being from California, automatic 10% discount going digital (no sales tax)

Do you mean pc ? I am and I'm not. The delay is a big blow to gamers. It's also feels like a heavy handed technique to push digital and digital to many is a choice not a requirement especially in console gaming. I've listed the many legit reasons why physical is preferable to many. So either this is intentional and if so it's a really sleazy marketing move by the publishers or it's unintentional and then if so where is the physical pre-order reward? Why are we being penalised on top of the delay with having to buy our pre-order DLC? The devs and publishers can't have it all their own way. Especially after they have made statements against the very marketing ploy which seems to be now playing out.

Maybe when outrageous nonsense like delay a month and divide the fan base occurs then we need equally over-the-top reactions to wake up the people in charge that thisnisnt fun for us or good business.

At the end of the day people and kids in particular will be made to feel like junk by friends, by online communities , and actively bullied or passively bullied for not having the game when everyone else does.
The latter is nothing new but it is new that this may happen even though they paid and pre ordered too. That scenario should never be a thing anyone has to deal with.

It is more expensive because you have to pay for the disks/shipping etc. A lot of games (not all) are less expensive if you buy the digital copy mail because it is less expensive to produce.

That doesn't make much sense cause in my experience most digital games cost just as much as the physical versions do. I know years ago when the idea of digital games first started they said it would make them cheaper cause there would be no disc, no instruction book/manual or plastic case. But most games that have physical versions on consoles also cost the same on Steam. So far I haven't seen a drop in price with digital games.

I payed £54.99 for the digital deluxe edition from the PS store the digital standard version is £50 and I've found places selling the physical release for £44.99 here.

Digital games are still more expensive than there physical copies and the only time you see a price drop is when Sony, Microsoft and Steam have sales on some of the games.

I think there are many valid arguments but its a fact that physical have to wait a month and they don't get a pre-order bonus and have to pay for day one dlc.

None of that is nice for a paying fan and I'm personally think it divides a community (as being witnessed on this post) and was 100% unecessary and if it was necessary there should be an apology and a reward of DLC for physical for the delay and inconvenice.

Nothing will make me change my mind on that valid stance as a physical customer.

I'm personally hoping the devs/publisher might see this and offer a code to any pre-order physical customers or just make that day 1 DLC (removed content) free to all.

Problem solved if they actually care about full price paying fans feeling left out.

Thank you to all who contributed to this conversation, this is a good community regardless if we all agree.

It's not a case of just making the Deluxe Edition content available from day 1 for the people who didn't buy the Deluxe Edition though, And why should frontier make that pre order content free to all? We the customer have payed the extra to obtain that content and if they were to hand out that stuff for free to the customers who did not purchase the Deluxe version of the game frontier would have to refund every person who payed the extra £5 or $6 for that content.

If they released the digital copy at the same time, we'd all be waiting another 3 weeks to play it because I'd imagine it takes extra time to get the disc copies made and distributed to the shops etc rather than just uploaded to an online store - so then you're punishing the digital only crowd when they could have the game already... So would they get free stuff just for the "inconvenience" of waiting? No, not at all.

Digital gamers have paid a little bit more for the deluxe version over the basic, and I'm pretty sure there was some info on the deluxe dinosaurs being released as separate paid dlc which the physical copy crowd can buy - so why is it that this should be free just because you are waiting a bit longer for a disc because you want it rather than digital? You absolutely don't have to wait, you are choosing to, that's down to you and your choice as a customer, I can't see you are being forced into anything so you aren't entitled to anything for the "inconvenience" of your own choices.

And for the record, I'd also prefer a physical copy, but am choosing not to wait for it because at the end of the day... It's the same game right?

Hello. I think I need to point out that the 5 dinos are not a preorder bonus. They are the extra content paid for in the delux edition, and they are the only extra content in the delux edition. The preorder bonus is a free optional paint colour/skin for the ranger Jeep and ACU helicopter. That’s all.
