Prediction of Azimuth saga conclusion

Greetings, commanders!
Soon the big story ark will conclude. What do you think will it end with?
Personally, I think Salvation and his team will die just like the team of Proteus in Trapezium Sector YU-X c1-2 1a.
Thargoids will not be destroyed completely

My pet theory is that Salvation/Azimuth are playing us for fools and never intended to destroy the Thargoid in the first place. Azimuth was very interested in Human/Thargoid hybrid technology/ships and the Thargoid are the only place where they can get these. Maybe Salvation/Azimuth is trying to "wake up" the Thargoid motherships for further research purposes and uses this entire "Let's blow up the Thargoid" message as a bait to generate support from the Pilot's Federation and the Superpowers (who would probably not help Azimuth if they were to know the truth). In this day and age of story writing, anyone with a name like "Salvation" is telegraphing being the bad guy from ten lightyears away.

According this theory, tomorrow we could witness Thargoid Motherships in space for the first time (either inert and "claimed" by Azimuth or fully operational and angry at us).

Can't really say I disagree with that, but is it supposed to be better if everyone would get the simplified text version instead of something better just in order not to upset console users?
The latter is (would have been) absolutely fine by me ... except, if that is the deal then they should have been honest and said "no" to that console question. By saying "yes" my assumption (as above) is that whatever is happening tomorrow is supported by all clients. Perhaps that is the deal and they said "yes" because they didn't want to sour the mood beforehand and have chosen to deal with the fallout after the fact. 🤷‍♂️

Firstly FDev promises that all players can take part in resulting events immediately after the device fires. So that can only be space based.
What happens afterwards is pure conjecture. I would keep it simple, so my thoughts that the event is recorded and is shown via a video or upon startup of the client.
On the client in space stations there has been a greyed out tab on ship combat for Thargoid missions. We also have a tab on the Galactic map for areas controlled by Thargoids.
So from those additions the resultant events will be Thargoid ship combat based in Space or possibly on airless worlds.

My tin foil hat suggests the following:
The Proteus wave works to kill or remove them. However this will be temporary. The name Proteus relates to Greek Mythology including The Odyssey!
The character is the first son of Poseidon who changes form and will tell of the truth if caught.
There are two possible tracks, one that the Witch is using the device to obtain knowledge, and not to kill Thargoids, after all the Thargoid bases do give directions... The other it works and like the other Proteus myth the 'bees' are killed and later a 2nd batch are found.

Total conjecture on my part. However, we will all know tomorrow. O7 all cya on the flip side.

The end will be visible in every client (old, console and new) - thus it will be something in space (maybe horizons). Floating-dead Thargoid ships? Some new and more bad ass Thargoid ships awaken? Something like this.

Then, going forward in Update 14 there will be new content in Odyssey, like on foot Thargoid combat (maybe, likely).

I just rather wish I could get some definite confirmation of whether or not there will actually be something to see, in game (on console) or not. And if there will be, what exact location and time do I need to be in order to see it?

Some unsorted facts I got:
  • Guardian allegiance option in galaxy map filters
  • Tons of Guardian mats in a Thargoid structure
  • Nothing allegedly found in datamining ED's assets (doesn't mean they're not there)
  • Patch day + ED's track records of issues within days following an update + massive gathering of players and FCs is concerning
  • Will be something witnessable at best on airless planet, at least in/from space
  • Galnet's communications too much focused on Salvation=good/Thargoid=bad to be honest
  • Suspicion reinforced by Arf systematically tweeting since months with Palpatine gifs
  • Even limited (usage of current assets only) they can't make a Gnosis again, unless they want to kill the game
  • The "never attempted before" stance reinforcing the previous point
  • Continuation of the narrative to come will be restricted to 4.0, and could in parts be restricted to Odyssey

Preparing myself for being rickrolled, but my bet is even if the very conclusion turns to be not as spectacular as hoped and doesn't immediately give something new, what's coming next could. And may involve Guardian - more precisely AI - awakening, and a side effect on Thargoids Salvation didn't expect (or do actually? 😏 )

The salvation AI has allready triple backed up its self and has a fail-safe timer built to activate a duplicate, if the primaries power is long term failed by a stray shot... ]

After the weapon goes off and spreads Via Hyper space/witchspace tunnels, The AI will go public as a Hologram AI interface for the first time... (Animated visuals for the first time in EDO using EDOs animated people models from on foot. EDH get static image with text...)

It Released Hudsons thargoid based explosives tech to force the feds to come to the table, as many ships "considered" killed by thargoids were killed using this federation tech... not thargoids...

The Salvation AI doppelgänger tried to use the empire for its anti thargoid war, but the people selected to help went too far and tried to take over instead of just help the AI.
So it had their location leaked via very simple messages and its black water fleet were removed as they got out of controll...

The AI rejected the alliance as use less with no capital class ships to defend it so just ignored them.. All the sirius crap was all their own fault with no help from the AI...

Massive new populated systems show on Galaxy map,, With power controller as "Guardian AI" controlled..

With salvations final message being...
All the other thargoid systems are yours to kill each other over but these systems are mine, do not enter, do not attempt any jumps to these systems... they are ours... The others are yours to exploit... Leave us alone...

Guardian AI waking up from its dormant state and comes around asking "Hey, who fired a superweapon using Guardian technology, since it wasn't us?"
It'll probably sound more like this:

"Youz guys know, we waz sleeping peacefully, knowing our jobs waz done so long ago.

Now, wez find youz guyz playing wiz our stufz, making all kinds of illegal 'tings wif it. Me, and my boys, wez find this very, very disrespectful. It breaks my heart to see youz doing this with with our stufz in such a disrespectful manner. I'm looking over here at Eddie Fingers and Joey Da FaceBasher and both of them are vizzably upset, ain't youz guys?"

<<off camera>> "Yeah Boss, wez both upset."

So, in conclusion, we haz to send a strong message to youz guyz about our stufz, becauz we needs to establish rulez about handling our stufz without our permissions.

Joey, show me where on their anatomy I can find their kneecaps." <<picks up large baseball bat made of meta alloys>>

"Diz may feel a little painful, but it's for your own good you learn your lessonz."

According this theory, tomorrow we could witness Thargoid Motherships in space for the first time (either inert and "claimed" by Azimuth or fully operational and angry at us).
"Now witness the firepower of this fully-armed and operational battle station.
Soon, many homes for the larva of the children will be made available."

The simplicity lend it elegance. The lack of detail also worked wonders on imagination. How I imagined planets and moons and fleets. But you can't beat that feel of vector gfx. I loved Starglider 1 (&2) as well. Also ED made me assume Stanley Kubrick stole the idea from Elite. Didn't know what came first. For me it was Elite, because I saw that before I saw 2001.

FYI, 2001 came out in 1968.
Yes, so I learned much later. My first confrontation with video games was a cultural confrontation too. I just had started learning English. Needless to say - I kinda avoided text adventures.
In Starglider 2 you find a "piece of lint". I still don't know what that is supposed to be.
Yeah, the games lived by visualisation a lot. And learning by doing. The text is then fluff. We figured out how to fly the Apache helo in Gunship by trial and error and the occasional use of a dictionary. Took only 3 ppl to play games like that. :D
