Howdy, everyone...
I've run into a minor annoyance, not a showstopper by any means, but annoying nonetheless. Yesterday, I upgraded from an ancient, gas-powered, kick-started AMD FX-8320 to a shiny new Ryzen R5 1600, with the associated motherboard and RAM upgrade. I did a reinstall of Windows 10, keeping my apps and files intact. Everything worked well, and things went mostly without a hitch (aside from being unable to get Windows to activate with the new build, despite making sure I was prepared with a valid digital license.... No worries, Microsoft CS issued me a brand spanking new Windows key...). I did go ahead and reinstall the drivers for my RX-480 card. But now, when I start up ED in my Oculus Rift, the part where it preloads the shaders and the planetary profiles chugs along every time, as if there's been a driver change. It takes a good minute or so every time, with the little white Oculus hourglass popping in and out in the corner. Obviously not a big problem, but with the same card on my old CPU these things took two or three seconds, on a slow day. I reinstalled ED just for good measure, and no joy. I'm wondering if it's something in the Oculus software? Anyone have any such an issue?
Thanks, and Happy New Year!
